Magic Mouse: Replace with better laser bulb

This is a shot in the dark. I understand that Logitech has developed this new (2009 - jseus fck!) tracking tech that it calls “Darkfield”, so it can track on pretty much any surface, i.e. glossy or clear glass surfaces.

Anyone know if it would be possible to extract the tracking sensors in a logitech mouse and transpose it into a magic mouse?

I want my mouse to match my mac, but the magic mouse tracking sucks, even after the release of magic mouse 2.

I think if i can connect the wires it can work again

But it's unreachable by hand and too small, also wires are too short

Magic Mouse: Magic mouse looses connection when not moved

Since a few days the mouse is acting weird. When it is not moving the connection will disappear, when the mouse is being moved again it will connect again. Everytime you want to use the mouse it takes a few seconds before it is connected again. Even when you pause 2 secondes to decide where to click on it will loose its connection! This behavior is the same on different MacBooks and Imacs.

Magic Trackpad: Magic Trackpad Not Tracking Correctly

Hi

I have a Magic Trackpad original. Recently it has stopped tracking accurately - if I move my finger around on the trackpad, the cursor responds intermittently. I have installed new batteries, which the iMac recognises as 100% charged.

Clicking works fine. Dragging and selecting suffer the same problems as tracking (i.e., the trackpad recognises multiple fingers, but the tracking errors persist).

Now the tricky bit. If I lightly touch the aluminium at the top of the trackpad, above the glass trackpad proper, with one finger then the trackpad begins to function properly and track accurately!

It's not the iMac causing the problem - I have connected the trackpad to two other devices (2012 15" MacBook Pro; 2015 13" MacBook Pro) and the symptoms persist. I have also connected a Logictech T651 to all three computers, which works just fine.

I think that it is something to do with earthing. I have rested a small ointment jar on the same place I touch - which is heavy enough to apply similar/greater pressure than I do with my finger - and that makes no difference.

Any clues?

Cheers

Magic Trackpad: battery acid damaged batt-compartment - how to restore?

Hi together,

I own a Apple Magic Trackpad, where the batteries ran out and damaged the battery compartment.

I removed the batteries and cleaned the battery compartment. Now, the batteries have a little bit axial play (2mm?), so I have to put some metal spacer in between. And the Trackpad is only working sporadically, I suggest a bad contact problem.

When I look into the battery compartment, I only see a elastic radial spacer and a (always corroding) center contact.

Does someone has any suggestion, how to resurrect the trackpad? Is there any part missing in the battery compartment? A spring maybe?

Magic Mouse: Green light turns on, but optical sensor has no light. Need help.

Hi,

My mouse is (partially) not working where it couldn't move the cursor but connects via Bluetooth to my mac.

The green light on my Magic Mouse is turning on when you flick the ON/OFF toggle switch. I tried changing the batteries also but to no avail. The odd thing is all the other functions work fine like scrolling, left+right gestures, clicking and right-clicking!

The product has never been dropped or moved around too much either and no signs of physical damage externally. I checked the sensors for hairs or dirt but nothing.

I have used a magic mouse with the rechargeable battery pad for several years. The mouse works fine but the battery life has been dropping significantly. I have let it completely drain then completely charge and saw no improvement.
