ASUS ZenPad S 8.0: Touch screen not responding

When my Asus Zenpad S 8.0 Z580C is in portrait mode the section of my screen where my home and back buttons are does not respond to touch. The same is true no matter how i orient the tablet, that small portion of the screen doesn't work. It displays fine, but it's like the touch sensor broke. Does anyone know who I might fix this with out sending it to Asus and spend $230 to repair a tablet i can get for $125 retail.

Thanks,

Asus MeMO Pad HD 7: How to verify if battery is good

I'm trying to repair my Asus Memo pad HD7 (ME173X-1A013A) because when I turn on it, it shows battery red icon for 2 seconds and it turns off

Charger is good

I thought:

- battery to life end

- dirty charging micro usb port

- problem to charge circuit

I tried to clean usb port but nothing.

I opened tablet and I disconnected battery cable for 10 minutes and I connect it again but nothing.

I tried to hold down both power and volume keys for 10 seconds but nothing.

How can I check if battery is good for example?

I replaced the touch pad as it was cracked and no longer worked. When I powered on the tablet I am only getting white vertical lines on the screen covering about 80%of the screen. both sides are black. Before I buy any other pieces how do I know that it is the LCD that's ruined and not the connector? Nothing I do makes the screen look any different.

Asus Tablet: Replacing a battery from another tablet

ASUS t300 chi

I'm into sort of an idea where at least replacing a battery in your tablet by the same brand could work (sounds more promising).

By some research (ASUS forums & battery vendors) on the web, the main problems that would turn up is:

- Battery wont charge after replacement

- The control system in the device monitoring the output would probably disagree

- Physical size of the battery

Why this question arrises is because I just bought the ASUS T300 Chi since the battery time on this device is only about 4 hours. At the same time I got my >~ 1 year old ASUS T100ta that I really liked, though it has felt quite slow. By specs I have so far found out that:

T300 Chi - ~4000 mAh, 33 kwh, 7.9 V (assumes that they mean 2 cells in series since Li pol. only operates at 3.3 or 3.7 < 4.2 V)

T100ta - ~8000 mAh (!!!), 33 kwh, 3.8 V (sounds more likely!), 2 cells

This is why replacing the battery in the T300 Chi with my old T100ta (150 of 500 recomm. cycles used up so far) is of great interest.

So any ideas?

Asus Tablet: Why did it stop connecting to internet after only 6 mos?

I have an Asus MeMo Pad Smart 10" ME301-T

I was streaming a HBO movie when the screen suddenly froze. I closed out the browser & went to reconnect to my router. the screen said "saved, secured with WPA2". Even the free connection from Xfinity wifi to any hotspot would not connect. I have tried factory reset -no success. Is there a part inside that could be replaced easily? ASUS said I needed a new motherboard and the cost would be more than i paid for the tablet brand new. any help would be appreciated.
