Sony CMT-CPX1: Sony CMT-CPX1 next track/fast forward selector opens CD door.

HI all!! I have a SONY MICRO Hi-Fi Component Unit Model No CMT-CPX1, and when I turn the selector for the next track on the CD, the CD tray opens, as if I had pressed the eject button. The same thing happens, when i try to fast forward a tape. The selector, as you can see in the picture, has multiple functions, depending on the selected source. It is like pressing 2 buttons at the same time. What could be the problem and how it could be repaired?

I have this old sony micro hi-fi component system CMT-EH26, it has been stuck in the shed for a year and before then it could play cds just fine, but now when ive been able to take it out and clean it (it was covered in very fine sawdust) it can do all of the usuall functions but read cds. so, the remote works, tape player works (havent tried recorder yet) audio in works with my phone, radio, ect

but basically whenever i put in the disc (label up) it starts reading, then tells me theres no disc inside. ofc its a problem with the laser but idk how to fix it, or replace it because i cant find what model/type the laser is.

i do not plan to fix it myself, i only want to know how expensive the laser will be to replace so i know no technician is scamming me (the techs in my area have a very bad reputation, i dont think every technician does this and i do not mind paying well for their labour but, i dont trust it yk) so ill get the technician to both replace the laser and clean the inside because i dont trust myself either.

also its my first time using this website and i do not know how to add different models so i think its an only admin/mod thing so if someone could also add the CMT-EH26 model to the list, it would be great for not only me but other people 👍

I've had this walkman for at least a year, using it off and on, but only recently started "daily driving" it for work.

It worked fine for a few weeks, but suddenly the buttons don't work. The buttons will click, but nothing happens.

I handle heavy items and get jostled a bit at work, so I assumed it was a loose ribbon or dirty button contacts and best, or a broken control board at worst.

The ribbon seems fine, not loose or pinched or anything.

The button contacts were dirty, but that wasn't the problem.

The board, as far as my limited knowledge can tell, isn't broken in a way I can see.

Pioneer PD-7500: The disc drawer was hit on the side and it doesn’t want to be closed.

The disc drawer was opened when the slide door hit hard on the side of the disc drawer. Now it doesn’t want to be closed when we push on the button that is normally closing it. What should I do? Thank you so much for the help!

CD Player: Panasonic SL-SV500 Portable cd player makes scraping noises

My panasonic cd player makes a weird scraping noise when i play cds. It works fine but the sound bothers me. The sound goes away when i hold the player sideways and it comes back when i put it down. Is there anything i can do to reduce the noise?

There is no audio coming from the speakers or the headphone jack with the radio, cd or tape. Everything else appears to be working.

Hi, I was repairing my Panasonic CD stereo system. I fixed the problem and while I was assembling it back a screw fell inside the stereo which was not visible. This made me toppling the system upside down. Rather than screw coming out, some other part fell on ground. After this CD tray keeps popping out all the time. I have no idea where this part has to go. It is a plastic hook with a spring. Part number mentioned on this is 0630.

Can someone help me finding the right spot for this part?

CD Player: Why Won't REPEAT and SHUFFLE work? Philips FWC 10C 3 disk cd player

I work in an animal shelter and we use a Philips FWC 10C 3 disk cd player for playing soothing music for the pets. When I took over use of the CD player, there was no remote available and you had to change out each CD after it plays which means 8-10 changes per day. I researched the player and found there IS a repeat feature but it’s only available with the remote. So I bought a replacement remote and most of the buttons on the remote are working, BUT, the repeat and shuffle buttons (the whole reason I got the remote) do not work. I can’t figure out if this is because those features are broken on the original CD player OR if those buttons are somehow not functioning on the remote. Any help appreciated!!!

Hi i have this stereo system SC-PM31 but the cd player is not working in the display only blinks “CD CHANGE" and doesn't make any fuctions not open the cd tray not play cd not change cd even with the cd changer disconected the display still blinks the same message. I have power for the radio and cd but when I switch to tape it will not run , just the display indicates “TAPE”. The belt drive is not damaged and it seems that the motor will not run . Is there a test I can do on the motor ?

my sonyradio cd and cassette playecfd-SO5 stopped receiving any am/ fm siginals, once in long while it works again , if i turn it off and on again i makes aloud pucking sound , then i get nothing just dead static ,very low volume static sound , if i turn the volume up the static will not increase either ,when i try to scan for a channel , it will not pick up anything, I live were there is a lot of stations to pick up, , but the casett deck will work, and no cd sound either? i brought it to a store to get fixed . he plugged it in and it worked , Took it home pluged it in . it worked , turned it on again next day , same problem , no reception on all levels am or fm? made a loud pucking sound ,when turning on the on button , turned it on agian this time no pucking sound and still no reception?
