Dell Precision M4800: Fans not switching on after cleaning them?

I removed my fans to clean the inside of my laptop, after putting them back in they won't run. I can put them in but not all the way, but then they run at full speed permanently. I've tried changing the settings to passive and not active but still nothing has changed. The moment I switch my laptop on the fans run at max speed…I don't want them running at max. Please could someone assist me?

I am trying to install a 2nd hard drive in my m6700 when i try to slide it in, it is not going in all the way so i can screw it down? its a ssd samsung 860 drive looks the same on the end as a reg drive I have it the right way in the caddy it just is not going in? What am I missing

Dell Precision 7710: Clean under trackpad buttons

How can I get under the trackpad buttons (Not the ones attached to the keyboard) and clean them out?

I found a drop of honey right on the right-side button and some seeped in underneath. (Which makes no sense, I didn’t eat any honey yesterday and it was fine last night???)

Is there a way I can lift out the trackpad button to clean underneath?

Dell Precision 7510: Laptop does not power on

I dropped my Dell Precision and the screen flickered and went blank (LCD still on) power button had no response so I took out thr battery noe and the power button light turns on for 16 seconds and turns off the fans doesn't spin and the screen doesn't turn on but the LED status shows power and battery (there's no battery inside) I reseated every cable and ram and gpu and still nothing I tried to connect a external display and nothing I also did the power drain thing where you disconnect every power source and hold down the power button

Dell Precision 5520: Dell Precision 5520 New battery not compatible

Hi all,

I bought a new battery for my dell precision 5520 from ifixit. after replacement the laptop doesn't want to detect the battery, it shows me an error when I turn on my laptop as the battery is third party and not compatible and laptop won't charge it.
I tried to update BIOS firmware with no luck, I also tried to update ACPI (unistall, install) Is there anyone who already faced this issue please. thanks.

I recently received a battery from ifixit, to replace the one that went out, so I thought. I replace it with the new battery and it won't power on. The fans kick in for a bit but that's pretty much it. Any suggestions?

Hi.

I think my laptop has a virus in it, which can not be identified by windows security. In “Windows security” - ”Virus and threat protection” - ”Exclusions”, the exclusions are adding to list without my permission. If laptop is not in use for 4 minutes, the CPU stars running at 100% and as soon as i touch mouse or type any button it gets back to normal work, also if the Task Manager is opened this “thing” will not occur (all works normally).

I was advise to (buy) install Kaspersky antivirus.

Do you have another option to deal with this kind of abnormality?

Is there anyone in india who is able to give a single key from their keyboard? i dont wanna waste so much money just because one is destroyed. the laptop i use is the dell precision 5560. i dont know the keyboard variant but i will paste the picture. the problem is that, one of the hooks on the hinge broke off so it cant be used anymore. if anyone is willing please help me. the sites that i found are only available in us or takes crazy shipping prices. is there any site that provides this kinda spares in india?

Dell Precision 7510: Backlit keyboard stoped working

Hi 👋

After changing thermal paste I was putting components together and while installing the keyboard the ribbon cable for backlight was bent a little too much accidentally, now it had a small part of it that's seem broken, even though I tried to flatten it with my fingers, since then backlit won't work anymore and I get an error concerning touchpad when running the BIOS ' diagnosis, which I believe is normal since both touchpad and keyboard are connected to the motherboard using one ribbon cable (touchpad and keyboard work fine)

Is there a way to fix it at home ?

Dell Precision 5510: Why can’t my Dell precision 5510 keep a charge?

My laptop’s battery kept getting worse and worse. Eventually it couldn’t keep a charge. Laptop would still run on AC power but it would randomly power off abruptly. I changed the battery. Powered up and it seemed ok. It said that it was charging. At one point it reached 100%. I kept it plugged in in order to calibrate the new battery. Then the original issues returned. I’ve also gotten messages that it doesn’t recognize my charger even though it’s the official one that came with my laptop. I updated everything and it happened again. Now it will not start for more than a second. There’s a blinking orange light near the trackpad but doesn’t blink a consistent amount of times. Any info is welcome. Thank you!

I recently bought a used Dell 5510 and it worked fine for the first couple weeks and suddenly it started getting hot below the top edge of the touchpad. I took the battery out and ordered a new one thinking that must be the problem. It was not, as it still was getting hot, too hot to rest your palm on it when typing. The seller recommended replacing the thermal paste on both the cpu, and the gpu, but I’m not positive where they are located.

Dell Precision M90: How to stop shutdown error

This is a Dell Precision M90 laptop with nVidia Quadro display chip, 17 "monitor, well cooled intel core 2 duo 2.17GB T7400 cpu, 2 Gigs ram, a clean 120GB WD HD, all devices have current drivers except for 2 unknown "base system devices" that show yellow exclamation in device manager and cannot find drivers for.

Using Windows 7 Professional.

System runs very well except at shutdown.

Shutdown process indicates (I turned on verbose reporting to see what was going on) when Group Policy Client services are being shut down this error stops the process:

setup.exe - THIS PROGRAM CANNOT BE INSTALLED ON THIS OPER. SYSTEM

Clicking on OK allows the shutdown process to finish.

Is this a secret windows update installation attempt that has gone wrong?

Any leads would be appreciated.

So I accidentally inserted an SD card to the CD drive, and I need that to be taken out.

I am using the laptop all day, every day, so I would need a technician to come to my office to fix it on location. Is that a service you provide?
