Whirlpool WDT730PAHZ0 roughly 4 yrs old. A day or so after a bad lightning storm and power outage in the area, my unit started acting crazy. It'll start filling, stops, then starts filling again, stops, drying fan kicks in, dispenser door opens, etc. I'm assuming a bad control board vs circulation pump or bad inlet valve due to the fact the drying fan is now starting at the beginning of any cycle. Also I tested continuity on the door latch, float switch. The diagnostic codes were F4,E3 then F6,E2 jumping between the two sets.

GE Dishwasher: Is not heating up,

I have a GE model GFD570SGF2WW I replaced the heating element but it still is not heating up, do I need to reset the power to the heating element?

I also see it could be the thermostat, where is that located in my model?

Dishwasher: KitchenAid Dishwasher Drain Pump runs intermittently

KitchenAid KDFE104DSS5 stopped draining recently and I took the following steps:

A. Blockage in Drain Hose:

1) I used the "Cancel/Drain" option successfully once and then this option stopped working too.

2) I found the drain hose clogged at the end connecting to the garbage disposal (there is no air gap). I cleaned the guck and tested it end to end for clear movement of water.

3) When I ran the Dishwasher, it still wouldn't drain (and pressing the "Cancel/Drain" button produced a soft vibration hum, likely due to the drain pump motor trying to run?)

B. Drain Pump Running Intermittently:

I pulled out the dishwater and extracted the drain pump out (Part #W10724439). I fond nothing impeding the movement of the impeller.

1) While holding the drain pump, when I pressed the "Cancel/Drain" button, the impeller worked for about 15 sec and stopped. However, I could feel the vibration from the motor unit. When I nudged the impeller wings, it would start running again.

I tested it a few times using the "Cancel/Drain" button and found the behavior inconsistent. Sometimes, it would run continuously and sometimes, stop (and start running again if I nudged it).

2) I unplugged the drain pump from the dishwasher and pried open the back plate of the impeller and found a very thin dry residue (looked like soap scum) around the circumference. I cleaned it (attached pic)

3) I then hooked it up directly to a 120V source. Every time I switch on the power, it runs continuously without any interruption.

I am now stuck and unsure what to look for next. Would appreciate some pointers.

Hello all.

I have a Frigidaire Model# FDB1500LFB0 and my problem is that…

after loading and selecting my cycle and hitting Start, my washer fills with water to the (I presume) proper amount of water in the bottom. The water is very hot. Then the system stops, and the only thing that will happen after opening it after this (anywhere from 3-15 minutes, I did this several times.) is that when the door is shut back and cancel pressed it will drain as normal. It was left to “run” once and the soap drawer opened, dumping the “pod” directly below it. The dishes had never had water on them and the “pod” was mushy from the ambient humidity, and in a spot directly under the drawer. If left on it will cycle through a fill/drain cycle but the spray-arms never move. I have cut the breaker to it on and off with no change.

Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

Dishwasher: Whirlpool E6 F6 error code

My whirlpool dishwasher will fill with water, drain, and countdown, but it will not spray. I had this issue before and I cleared the trouble codes, but that is not working this time. The trouble code I am getting it, E6F6 as well as E-F-. I appreciate the help.

Whirlpool Dishwasher: Control panel on and off

Hi!

I have a Whirlpool ADG 8532/1 IX W(?) dishwasher.

The lights on the display are on if I push the door out.

But if I close the door it shuts down, so I guess there could something with the display?

Any suggestions?:D

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher: Kenmore Elite Power Chord Melted

My Kenmore Elite dishwasher just stopped working and I went looking around and found that the power cord had begun to melt and was all black and scary looking. I’m looking to replace this if anyone has any experience or insight it would be greatly appreciated. Dishwasher is already installed and not by myself so I don’t know where to begin and if this requires the unit to be removed or not.

Dishwasher: Buttons blinking and unresponsive

I have a Maytag MDB7749SBM3, the “auto clean” light is on, the “wash”, “sanitized”, and “delay hours” buttons are blinking. All buttons are unresponsive. I tried cutting the power for a few minutes. Didn’t work, when I returned power the situation persisted. I can’t find any error code anywhere. Please help, thanks.

Dishwasher: Bad smell on dishes

I have two dishwashers. After 17 years, I started getting a fishy bad smell on some of my dishes. I replaced both dishwashers. Smell in both continued. Replaced all hoses and garbage disposal. Smell continued. Had drain line power washed all the way from kitchen to street. Still smells. Replaced air gap (using a single air gap designed for two dishwashers). Never run dishwashers at same time and run garbage disposal before running dishwasher. Any suggestions?

I had the same model and same issue. I disassembled the pump / motor assembly and found the motor to be broken, so I ordered a replacement motor and tested it OK before putting it on. The problem persisted with the replacement. I entered Drain model (the display showed DRAIN 001, 002, 003 ‘minutes’) but found no power to the motor at all.

Tried reset by pressing three buttons next to START button and received error codes. F9 E1.

Any idea?

Hello there, I am getting F4- E3 fault code on my whirpool dishwasher ( WDT970SAHZ0 . It seems like dw gets fill with water and then it drains This code calls for problem in drainage. I have checked inside of the dw for blockage and cleaned filter and the water sensor. Under the dw I check for glass or anything blocking the drain pump and hose. I unplugged the dw to reset it to see if that clears it out. It actually made it work once and then I tried again and the problem comes back. Would I have a faulty water sensor or something alse? Thanks!

Whirlpool Dishwasher: Why won’t my dishwasher dry my dishes

I replaced the heating element on my whirlpool dishwasher but it still won’t dry the dishes. The water gets hot enough to fog my glasses but will not dry the dishes. How can I fix this? I included a picture of the control panel and the model number. It didn’t give me he option of my dishwasher in the devices.

Hi, I have an Ikea whirlpool dishwasher. It had a free fall door because hinge string was broken which I replaced. Now, it starts when I keep the door pressed manually. It runs for sometime even if I stop pressing the door but stops after sometime. If I presss the door again then it starts again but stops after sometime if I stop pressing the door. I already open the door and checked all the wires and everything is connected. I also cleaned the area for clogging and anything stopping the close the door properly. Could it be door latch or something else need to be replaced?

I have a Maytag dishwasher. Today my son decided to be a chef. Needless to say when mama says 1 drop of water and shut the dishwasher... well a skillet with really hot oil, and a handful of water later...

Hot oil splashing, my sons quick retreat ended up with him sitting on the open door of my dishwasher.

Now I'm sure Ive got half of y'all thinking "that's what you get for leaving your kid in the kitchen..."

Well my "kid" is 19yrs old, and 205lbs. and fiercely independent, aka "leave me alone, Im not a kid..." In our situation not only can we not afford a new dishwasher, we cant afford for Dad to find out. Any ideas, suggestions, help would be appreciated. Thanks!
