DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U: Pressing L2 trigger also register pressing up

Hello, so my issue is that if I fully press the L2 trigger on my ps4 controller , It also act like I'm pressing up as well. It doesn't seem to do that though if I just lightly press. I tried resyncing it and even open up the controller to remove any dust, but the issue is still there trying both options. Anyone know what could be the issue?

DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U: Ps4 controller acting as if the battery is dead

My gf spilled juice on my ds4 and the triangle and circle buttons were sticking. I decided to take it apart to clean it. After reassembling it, it didn't turn on when I pressed the ps button. When I plug it in it works fine. According to the menu it's connected via Bluetooth. Every function works including the headset. But as soon as I unplug it it dies. Note that it was fully charged prior to disassembly and the juice was spilled on it weeks ago. I used it daily with 100% functionality until I got fed up of the sticky buttons. I've tested the battery and I get 3.6v. The ps4 shows it charges for a few mins then indicates it's full. But it still dies the instant I unplug it. What could be the issue?

DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U: R2 Trigger not responding at all

Hey guys! So I've had my DS4 for about 6 years now. I didn't use it for a while (about 2 years), and when I plugged it in the other day (I use it on PC, my PS4 doesn't work) the R2 trigger wasn't responding at all. It's not a flicker or a "I have to press real hard" thing: it's completely dead.

I opened the controller to check for any obvious signs (broken plastic, something missing, something burnt), but honestly couldn't find anything. I even took it off and tried pressing the sensor myself and nothing (I did the same with the L2 trigger to compare, and it responded perfectly). I used DS4Windows to test the buttons' response.

So that's the extent of my "knowledge", I don't know electronics enough to really know what's wrong other than what I did. Is there anything else I should be checking? Like something in the motherboard, or maybe a cable/flex I don't know about? I didn't take the battery off to expose the motherboard because I wouldn't know what to look for before asking.

I don't have the money to buy a new one right now (plus the rest of the controller works perfectly), and would like to avoid sending it to a "technician" to be charged a lot for something I could fix myself.

Thanks in advance for reading and any help you can provide!

DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U: Dualshock 4 (v2) not charging, most prob PCB problem.

As title states it. Problem that a lot of people have yet its different.

My controller is brand new (well it was not used but prob sitted in shop for a long time, bough it as damaged).

It does charge but only with EXT port, not usb. The light is working.

Known solutions, that did not work.

1) Its charging cable. - checked

2) Its charging PCB - swapped to working one, no resoult

3) Its chargign PCB ribbon cable - swapped, no resoult

4) Its connector on main PCB to charging PCB - well the light is working so doub it, but still can actually be it.

5) Battery is not working - well, it is, it charges and i also swapped it.

6) Try reseting ds4 - tried, no resoult.

Since it charges through EXT and not USB i assume the fault is on the usb - main pcb line and its probably not charging chip. How and what to check to confirm it?

DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U: Battery not holding a charge.

So this might be a bit long winded, but I want to give every detail I can because I’ve been searching for an answer online and I have not found one. So I have 2 PS4 controllers, one I don’t use because the left analog stick doesn’t work. I bought a new one about 10 months ago and recently it stopped charging altogether. I did some research and came to the conclusion that it was either the battery or the charging port, so I went ahead and swapped the battery and charging port from the old controller with this one. Now I can finally see the flashing yellow light signalling that it’s charging, but the battery is perpetually at 0%. It’ll work plugged in, but instantly dies when unplugged. I’ve tried swapping the batteries back and nothing changed. I don’t want to say it’s impossible, but it seems a bit farfetched for both batteries to die at the same time as the newer charging port. I’m not sure if this info is relevant, but when I unplug it from my PC, I get this perpetual red light that stays on for about 10 minutes or until I plug it into my PS4. Another side issue I want to mention is that while it was plugged into my PC, it kept registering that I was holding up and left for some reason.

DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U Generation 4: Left stick activates the right trigger

I was having this issue with my ds4 that the R2 trigger kept activating itself spontaneously, I checked the input reading in DS4Windows and it did in fact show that the R2 was working on its own.

I read on this thread that this issue is caused because of dirt between the contact surfaces of the cable sheet and the trigger and the solution was to just clean them. I've replaced the cable sheet before so I knew how to clean it safely, and so I did, but after I reassembled everything the r2 trigger stopped working all together. The reading in DS4Windows show that the R2 is completely dependent on the left stick now. It doesn't spontaneously activate itself now, but the &&^&^$^ left stick is controlling it.

Here is a demonstration. Can anyone help me out with this? What could be the issue? I found this thread on IFixit which describes the exact problem, but its for the Xbox controller. I don't seem to understand what parts are the DS4 equivalent to be able to narrow down the problem for myself.

DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U: Help figuring out why controller reading is all over the place

Hey people sorry for asking so frequently about ds4. But after my last question about stick replacement i finally replaced my analog stick, but i found out after i reassemble the controller together that its not working right.

(the replaced stick is stuck to the left, the R2 & L2 is pressing on its own *not physically).

After that i dissasemble it again and check the potentiometer with a multimeter and its all in a normal range(i don't really know what the numbers meant but it's the same as the original one). Any ideas what causing them?

I have a theory because i also found out that the 12-pin ribbon cable (from the back casing to the board) is messed up

DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U: Controller not charging from usb cable

First, I gotta say that I ran into this problem after using the controller for about 20 hours in a period of 2~3 months. I have used it wired to my usb 2.0 port (I have also tried usb 3.0) on my computer at the time, I don’t have bluetooth, and it simply died one day.

The controller works when connected and is detected by my pc with no problems. However, it DOESN’T GET CHARGED by the usb cable. I checked different usb cables and even bought and swapped the charging port, but had no success charging it.

The battery still works and is the reason why the controller is still useable, because it doesn’t draw its power from the usb cable for some reason. It REQUIRES the charged battery to work WHILE WIRED. The thing is, I have to remove the battery from the controller and charge it by connecting the positive and negative wires from a usb cable directly to the battery and plug it to USB wall charger with the correct voltage and amps. After waiting for it to charge fully I can connect it back to the controller and use it.

Is there a way to fix this? I’ve searched for a similar problem on the internet, but it’s never quite the same as this one.
