Ge Profile refregerator: Both keep going up, but the freezer never gets back down

I have the exact problem. GE Profile - started a month ago - fridge side supposed to be at 37 and Freezer 0. Both keep going up, but the freezer never gets back down below 6 and just rises from there. I blow dried the back coils, no block of ice there. Side panels are normal, sounds are normal. High end fridge quickly becoming useless. Did you solve this Andrew?

Ge Profile refregerator: Why do my GE profile refrigerator inverters die every 5 years

The temp in my freezer and refrigerator went and stayed at 50. most links said the control panel. it was friday evening and couldn’t get the thee part by at least monday. in desperation, I called a serviceman who came saturday morning. he looked at the unit , felt around and diagnosed the inverter was bad. he replaced it and the machine works. I didn’t need the control panel and the money I saved for the panel went to the service charge, but at least, I didn’t sacrifice the time and food waiting for the panel. My concern and question is that the GE Profile was purchased in “09 and needed the inverter replaced in ‘15 and now in ‘20. My third inverter in 11 years. the first 2 lasted about 5 years each. What’s with the inverters? why do they go like that?

My Ge profile refrigerator (model PSC25SGSA-SS) is not getting cold enough :freezer-5-6 , refrigerator-45-47.

Here is what i know:

1-compressor-running

2-compressor fan-running

3-compressor coil- cleaned

4-evaporator-no ice build and is ice cold

5-evaporator-fan running

6-defrost thermometer- just replaced

7-defrost heat bulb-just replaced

8-temp sensor on evaporator-just replaced

9-control board -visually checked “good” no burned solder joints, no resistors burnt, no capacitor bulging at the top.

10-when i adjust the temperature on the freezer or refrigerator side higher. The refrigerator does turn off the compressor and fans.

11-when i replace the defrost thermometer the freezer side got to 0 to -2 but refrigerator side never got below 42

12-test the door switches on both door- working properly.

I am at my witts end, please advise.

GE Refrigerator: GE Profile PSS26MSTESS very warm then cold again

We have a GE Profile PSS26MSTESS that came with our house. No idea how old it is.

On Sunday, we found that the fridge had warmed up to 60 F. The Freezer at that time was at -6 F.

We reset the power, tried messing with the set temperature, and left it for about an hour. The freezer warmed up to about -2 and the refrigerator side stayed at 60.

Figuring it was dead, we removed everything from it and took the food to my grandmother’s place.

I do not think the door was stuck open or anything because on the occasions that we have done that, we usually notice a large quantity of condensation on the steel doors from the escaping cold air and there was nothing like that here.

Now it’s Tuesday. For Monday and today the Fridge has seemed to hold temperature at 0 F for the Freezer and 33 F for the Refrigerator.

Our home warranty company can’t get anyone out here for at least another week.

I am not sure what to think. It seems to be holding temperature now but I am disinclined to trust it.

Any ideas?

GE Refrigerator: Antique GE Fridge cool, but not cold, running a lot.

I have an old (maybe 1950’s) GE model LB 81SC.

It’s a small fridge that I just want to keep drinks in the garage in. It worked fine when i bought it, but later seemed to struggle to stay cold. I moved and didn’t use it for a year and thought i would plug it in again recently.

It runs a lot, and the evaporator in the small freezer section gets cold, at first it dropped into the 20’s, but now it’s got water drops on it that aren’t frozen. It has no fans either for condenser or evaporator. The condenser on the back is clean. The compressor gets hot, but the heat doesn’t seem to travel very far into the condenser, i don’t know how warm the condenser is.

The thermostat seems to work, it kicks on when i turn it to colder anyhow.

It’s staying in the low 40’s in there most of the time, but now the freezer section isn’t frozen either and i’m feeling like it’s running nearly constantly. It should really stay in the 30’s.

How do I go about troubleshooting an old simple unit like this?

thanks

GE Refrigerator GSH25JFX: Why is the evaporator fan running but not blowing air into the fridge?

I have a GE side by side refrigerator/freezer model GSH25JFXB. We noticed a few days ago that the evaporator fan is running almost continuously. Since then we have been monitoring temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer, and although the freezer is staying cold enough the refrigerator temps have been getting too warm at times. Although the evaporator fan is running, we don’t feel the cold air blowing into the refrigerator. My husband is pretty handy with fixing some kinds of appliances with the help of youtube, but is not very familiar with refrigerators. Does this sound like something we need to pay a repairman to come in and look at, or should we just replace the whole thing? (It is just over 10 years old). Or, is there something fairly simple we can do to check and see for ourselves if something simple is wrong that we could fix ourselves?
