Google Pixel 3: permanent vertical lines on display after battery replacement

I did the guide on replacing the battery of a pixel 3 with the ifixit kit.

Everything was fine after taking off the backplate, then i swapped the batterys and used 99% isopropyl alcohol to get the old battery out. After installing the new battery, the screnn showed vertical green lines.

I found multiple Questions here that found, the problem to be with the alcohol and that it would evaporate itself if you wait a while. I did so by letting it stay open during the night. The next morning, just as expected the screen was completly fine again, no lines or any other damage whatsoever.

After using the phone for half a day, the lines came back, stronger, brighter, more and diffrent colors.

I think the screen is propably broken, but I would really like to know why. What was the cause ?

Was it the force or heat of taking off the backplate? But why did it work for two day, no problem.

Was it the isopropyl alocohol ? But why did it work for half a day after having time to evaporate and why would the alcohol permanently damage the screen ?

I really hope someone can give me a bit of insight, also ideas on how to continue would be apprechiated.

Google Pixel 3: My phone is constantly overheationg, how can I fix that?

Ever since replacing my Pixel 3’s battery my phone is overheating constantly, I’m guessing this is because in order to replace the battery I had to remove part of the thermal sticker that connected the battery to the main board (As seen in Step 13 of the battery replacement). When I did this step I wasn’t able to remove the sticker from the battery and just ended up tearing the sticker off the battery.

What can I do to fix this? What can I add in the phone to help my phone’s thermals now that that this thermal sticker is damaged?

Google Pixel 3: Pixel3: replace USB port or battery first? ..can test b4 reassembly?

My Pixel3 won't charge at all thru USB port (tried various cables), and I don't have a wireless pad (to test if battery still charges OK). So should I attempt replacing the charge port first? ..and can I then power-On 'test' it with original battery while phone is still open without fully resealing rear cover? Or if I replace battery first, can I 'test' it against original charge port while phone is still open (rear cover on but not sealed)? [Yes I'll replace both (have parts), but I'd at least like to learn if the fault was the port or battery] Likewise, once I've replaced both, can I power On to test it while phone rear cover is connected (but not sealed)?

Google Pixel 3: Pixel 3 is charging but not starting up

I recently bought a Pixel 3 on which the seller commented that the buttons had loose connections. When I received and unpacked it the battery was drained to 0% and it did in fact charge but it wouldn't turn on no matter how hard I pressed those buttons.

Normally I would think that it boots up after the battery is charged sufficiently but it does not. The screen stays black, there is no vibration.

Google Pixel 3: Pixel 3 won't charge; suggestions for booting/retrieving data?

Hi,

I have a Pixel 3 that no longer charges and has run out of batteries. I noticed shortly before it did that it was at 1% battery. When I plugged it in (or used the wireless charger), the charging symbol turned on and it stayed powered indefinitely, but the % charge never went up. I should have copied my data off—only one thing I need—but instead I attempted to reboot. It powered down and now won't turn on, display anything, or charge.

Any suggestions on how I might get it to power up long enough to copy some data off?

I've removed the back and wireless charging coil successfully, but have stopped there. I honestly don't care if the device ever charges again or survives the process overall, but I also don't really have any ideas on what to do from here.

Thanks for any help!

Google Pixel 3: Won’t turn on after battery replacement

After battery replacement it won't turn on anymore. No reaction on the screen, no haptic feedback - no vibration, phone offline in "find my device"

What I tried:

plug in to charger

long press power on

long press power on + volume down

even tried to reconnect the old swollen battery which worked before, but with the old battery which worked an hour ago it's also dead.

I fully reassembled the device in case it does some integrity checks before booting, (Fingerprint sensor, etc.)

Any ideas what I can try?

I did not notice any breakage during replacement, nothing had to be forced. I have no idea what to try.

Google Pixel 3: Battery won't charge after replacing the charging assembly

Just got everything put back together. The headphones now work (yea!) but the phone wont charge (boo!). I get a message that says “battery plugged in, can’t charge right now.” I’ve tried two different google chargers and different wall sockets. When I have the charger connected to the phone and unplug from the wall, the status changes to indicate no charger is connected. When I plug it back into the wall, the “Battery plugged in, can’t charge right now” message returns. So, the phone is registering that it is connected to power.
