Kenmore 110 Series Washing Machine: Kenmore washing machine makes very loud noise when spinning

Model number is 110.25102310

When spinning it’s extremely loud, but it has no other issues. Wash cycle is fine, it’s only loud during spin cycle.

It sounds like an airplane taking off in the laundry room when it spins.

Kenmore 110 Series Washing Machine: No spin while motor runs during spin cycle - brake and clutch problem

My Kenmore 110 26422500 direct drive washer operates normally except for the spin cycle. During the spin cycle, the tub doesn't spin at all but the motor runs and there's a pretty healthy humming sound with no grinding or banging. After a time during the spinless spin cycle, there's a faint burning smell.

With the washer off, the tub can't be spun manually, even with lots of force. I'm not sure whether this is normal or not for this model.

Tipping back the washer and inspecting the motor, transmission and coupling during the spin cycle, I can see that both nylon parts of the motor coupler are spinning. I'm pretty sure the transmission input shaft is also spinning, but I'm not absolutely certain of that. With the power off, by turning the coupling manually, I can spin the transmission input shaft counterclockwise (as looking into the transmission) easily and indefinitely. I'm certain that the transmission input shaft is turning when I do. I can also easily spin it clockwise initially, but after a few "quarter turns" with my thumb, I can't rotate it at all with the maximum torque I can provide with my hand.

I'm not sure whether this is a coupling, transmission or clutch problem or whether the bearing or something related to tub rotation might be seized or jammed.

I've read that the shiny silver circle on the bottom the transmission should spin during the agitation and spin cycles, but I've found that it never spins and suspect it is a fixed element, not a rotating one. Hoping someone might be able to assist in the diagnosis.

Kenmore 110 Series Washing Machine: Washer makes noise and won’t drain all the way

Hi, I have a kenmore he washer 110.26002011 type 588-06. It won’t start a cycle. It will attempt to start and make some noises, including a rumbling noise. It will then quit. I thought it was the drain because I can hear water still in the bottom when I spin the tub by hand. I made sure the drain hose was clear. I took off the drain pump and removed a small piece of yarn and plastic. I then opened the top and found about 6 socks between the inner and outer tub. Removed socks, 2 bobby pins and replaced drain pump. It still isn’t fixed and makes a couple of strange noises that I recorded. What’s the next step? I need help.
