Kindle Tablet: How can I determine the generation of a Kindle?

My wife dropped her kindle and a corner of the screen can no longer be read. We don't know which generation of Kindle she has, so can determine if it can be repaired. Any help will be appreciated.

I think maybe the inside of my kindle where the plug goes might be broke somehow. I have to jiggle the cord to connect. I've tried other cords from my Grandkids kindles andhave to do the same thing.

Not sure if I have the right model as I can’t get it on to look. My Kindle won’t respond to touch. When it first comes on — sometimes — I can manage to turn it on by swiping, and other times it doesn’t respond to swiping. If I do turn it on, after the next touch it becomes unresponsive. I’ve rebooted it, recharged it, allowed the battery to go dead and then recharged it. I connected it to my PC and was able to get in and make one touch and then it went unresponsive at all. I really enjoy my Kindle and would like to get it running again but have no idea what to try next. Tia.

It just shows the screen that says kindle fire , like it is charging... but won’t go any further.. charged overnight.. still the same.. as soon as I unplug it.. it shows the dead battery screen

My Kindle 7, 4th generation, has been attempting to do a system update since last Friday, January 12th, 2018. It freezes before it can finish and I have let the battery drain, charged it and tried several times as well as doing the troubleshooting through Amazon and with Tech help but nothing has changed. This device does not have a lot on it to have a full memory and it is still in great condition other than this issue. Is there anything else I can do?

When I insert the cable I have wiggle it around for the yellow light to come on and it stops registering the cord unless i hold it in place. How do I fix this?

Kindle 3: Why is my kindle keyboard constantly restarting?

My kindle had been having memory problems so I cleared a lot of docs. Then it seems to have gotten caught in a cycle of constantly restarting (and not cleanly, too boot).

If it can't be fixed, how would I get my docs out of its memory?
