Xbox Series X: Xbox Series X stuck at 61% update (E100 00000703 80910002 / 0xc000000e

My Xbox Series X is stuck during a system update at around 61% and always fails with error code E100 00000703 80910002.

I also extracted system recovery logs showing repeated Optical Disc Drive (ODD) failures:

Log output:

FAILED to find ODD physical device, status = 0xc000000E. GetOddPhysicalDevice failed.
COddDevice::_Open failed!
Odd open failed, retry in one second...

Symptoms:

Update always stops at 61% (online and offline USB update both fail),
disk drive shows no mechanical activity (no spin, no motor response)

Console still detects disc presence state (inserted / not inserted correctly)

Eject button works (UI sound response)

The console does not boot when the disc drive is disconnected

What I already tried:

Reseated all internal disk drive connections

Full power cycle

Offline system update via USB (OSU1)

Tested without external USB storage

Verified behavior with no disc inserted

The console was working normally before this update attempt. The failure always happens at the same stage (61%), which seems to coincide with ODD initialization.

Has anyone seen this exact combination of:

Update freeze at 61%

E100 00000703 80910002 error

ODD physical device failure (0xc000000E)

Drive detected logically, but not mechanically active

Is this more likely a firmware/drive pairing issue, or a hardware failure of the disk drive or the motherboard communication line?

Xbox One S: Questions about motherboard component values and orientations

If anyone can help me with a couple issues that would be great! :) I need to replace the surface mount components C7E1 and C7E3 on a friends Xbox One S, which appear to be resistors. I need to know if they have a specific orientation, what the values are, and also what the values of the components, C7E2 and C7E4, next to them are (in case I can get a second shot at this component swap if something goes wrong). Also, if someone could tell me what the max operating temperature of these little guys tends to be, that would be fantastic (while removing one, it stuck to the tip of my iron for almost 5 seconds). I apologize, the image quality is not the greatest.

Xbox Series X: Faulty M.2 Drive on XBox

An XBox Series X has been in storage for some months so has not been in use. When the XBox was setup when I was in my new property, the system was slow. Went through some offline resets to restore but painfully slow. The drive is overheating (62°C when idle) and registers very little use; 50GB total host writes, 13 power on hours. Normally there is a 12 month warranty on goods (in storage; has gone over 12 months) but the drive normally has a 3-5 yeare or TBW warranty. Can this XBox be submitted for repair under the warranty of the drive? Can drive be replaced via FixIt or by other means as I know the partitions on drive are encoded with a genuine licence to each individual XBox.

Xbox One: How to transfer data from old Xbox one hdd

Hi guys,

I have removed the Xbox one internal HDD, from my old Xbox connected it to an enclosure case and can view all files on my pc. But when I plug it into the new Xbox one it doesn’t show up? I’m thinking because it still has an operating system on and isn’t formatted as external.

My brothers gamer tag is saved on this hdd and he can’t remember the email address he used for this account. And also he wanted to try access he saved games.

I was wondering how I could transfer data from this old Xbox one hdd onto my new Xbox without having to take apart new Xbox to swap hdd’s.

Xbox One: Errors E106 and E101

I get error E106 whenever I boot and when I try to update or factory reset I get E101. I used the factory update trick by holding eject and bind even after two beeps with a USB drive plugged in to instantly start updating but every time I try to update or factory reset I get error E101. When it says checking update, i checked on the drive and saw that it does move the update files to the disk but it doesn't install them. I have repartitioned the hard drive with ludvig jerabeks Linux tool. I tried every USB option available. Any ideas on what these error codes actually mean? I know E101 has something to do with updating.

Oh and I can't send it to Microsoft because my warranty period has ended and I don't want to pay half the retail price just to let them repair a known issue.

My Xbox Series X turns on for about a minute (or less) and then shuts back off with no display. It has been sitting in storage for over 2 years.
Xbox Series X: Xbox Series X freezes, flashes green, then shuts down - Already replaced thermal paste

My Xbox Series X freezes, flashes a solid green screen, and then completely shuts down the console. This happens sometimes immediately upon launching a game, and other times after a few minutes of play.

I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Opened the console and performed a deep cleaning of all vents and the fan.

2. Replaced the thermal paste on the APU and applied new thermal putty to the memory chips and VRMs.

3. Verified the motherboard interconnect cable is securely seated and undamaged.

4. Tested the console plugged directly into a wall outlet.

5. Attempted a factory reset (keeping games and apps).

Despite these steps, the green flash and crash persist. Since the behavior started before I opened the console, I suspect a hardware failure (possibly APU solder joints or a failing internal SSD).

Are there specific board-level components (capacitors, VRMs, etc.) known to cause this "green flash" symptom, or is this confirmed as a terminal APU failure requiring a reball? Any advice from technicians who have seen this specific failure pattern would be greatly appreciated.
