<title><![CDATA[Nextbook Ares 8A: Lock screen password locked out]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>My daughter wanted a password on her brand new tablet so her sister couldnt get onto it. I helped her put on the password. We decided to use her name so we would not for get it. I put it on and then it asked me to repeat the password. Then it asked me if i wanted to show the password on the lock screen. I figured why not? She is 11 she may forget it. Anyways i pressed the power button once to click the screen off to try her pass word. IT DOESNT WORK.  He password is clearly typed under the box where you type your password but the screen will not open. What the heck? Its been since last september and we still cannot figure it out. She even has a google account we signed into from my phone thinking there would be an option to reset it from there. But there is not. And when we try what google search had to offer on factory reset. Well that doest work either. It ends up just saying no comand with the little android guy laying down with his chest opened with a red triangle and exlamation mark in the middle. I cannot even find a number to call or a store to take it to for help. We bought it from walmart they when we called and talked to the tech department they say they did not know and suggested calling the manufacturer. We cant figure that out either. Please help us. Or guide us in the right direction. This 68 dollar tablet she got for her birthday and got to play for 2 days.</p>

Die unless charger on it</p>

<title><![CDATA[Nextbook NXA116QC164: Reenable Screen in BIOS]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,</p>

<p>At one point in time, I was trying to change the OS on a nextbook ares 11, I managed to do so, but then I wanted to try and install windows.</p>

<p>I went mucking about in the BIOS to get it play with windows and somehow I disabled the screen. The screen is <strong>not</strong> broken.</p>

<p>The device was last running remix OS 2.0 with the TWRP Recovery environment</p>

<p>The device runs the InsydeH20 BIOS.</p>

<p>The device still boots, I just can't see anything on it, and I don't know if the mini HDMI output works, I don't want to buy a cable only to find it the output doesn't work.</p>

<p>If anyone else who has done the same OS swap might be familiar with the procedure to enable the BIOS access.</p>

<p>I'm hoping that anyone who has done the same, might still have the device with acees to the BIOS and can guide me with a tutorial and screenshots of the BIOS to reenable the screen. I want to say the setting is somewhere in the &quot;advanced&quot; section of the BIOS.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Nextbook Tablet: My nextbook ares 10.1 is charging REALLY slow, it takes days, help?]]></title>

<title><![CDATA[Nextbook ares 8: FAILED 999 times out of 1000, can't enter recovery mode.]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Failed 999 times out of 1000 tries can't get it to enter recovery mode.</p>

<p>HELLO out there, I have a NextBook Ares 8, NXA8QC116, -- Android, 5.0 Lollipop, tablet.</p>

<p>I'm trying, once again (over the course of five + years) to get this tablet to work, and I was hoping that I could finally find &quot;the&quot; answers from here maybe? (1st time asking here)</p>

<p>When I start my tablet, it won't get beyond just displaying the nextbook logo in the middle of screen, and &quot;powered by Android&quot; at the bottom when it 1st comes on (+ backlight?)</p>

<p>Then they both go out briefly, then just the nextbook logo reappears alone for a period of time and stays (sometimes for a long time) or may go out and come back on again for a while and then nothing else happens, I'll let it sit and after a while it just goes totally black. (but it's only the first time that Android is included on the screen).</p>

<p>When I try and start it to recovery/reset mode using the pow + vol up it'll show the logo/s a few times just like earlier and then just goes blackish? or sometimes whitish? (and I can not access the recovery program although I've tried 1000 times as it says in my description).</p>

<p>One time I was actually able to get the little Android guy to show up on the screen but by the time I found my glasses so I could read it. It had gone away and I've never been able to get back to that screen again I've tried various combinations of holding the power button and volume up button down for however long (5 sec, to 5 min) then releasing one, I've tried it even with the volume - down I've tried a combination of you know holding two down and then releasing one of them, Tried combos that include the home button.</p>

<p>I've tried every possible combination I can think of, and other than that one brief moment, I've been unable to access that recovery mode again.</p>

<p>I can occasionally get it to say, &quot;Entering fastboot&quot;, and I think it was DNX waiting for command, or something similar to that, but I just found out apparently that's for when/if, It's connected to a computer for in-put? .</p>

<p>Also, I have disconnected and reconnected the battery more than once.</p>

<p>Hopefully I found the right place.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Nextbook tablet model NX700QC: Can I replace the 5-wire battery with a 3-wire?]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I have a Nextbook 7&quot; tablet model NX700QC.</p>

<p>The battery is shot and needs to be replaced.  I have searched the internet and there is not a 5 wire battery found.   The battery has 2 red wires, 1 thermistor wire,, 2 black wires.</p>

<p>Battery specs 3000mAh , 3.7 volt  5 wire.</p>

<p>There are 3000mAh  3 wire batteries available with the thermistor wire.</p>

<p>1 red, 1 thermistor, 1 black.</p>

<p>How would I solder the red and black wires to the board?  Should I connect the 1 red wire to both red connections or just one of them?  Also same question with the black wire.</p>

<p>Or will a 3 -wire battery not work at all with this tablet?</p>

<p>Anyone with any knowledge on this, please help me. I do not want to chunk what otherwise is a good tablet.</p>
