Nexus 7: Why won't my screen turn on?

For some reason, my Nexus 7 2nd generation isn't turning on after reading the instructions given from Google Help, which was to press the power button for 15 seconds, charge it to a computer, charging it for an hour, and etc. Honestly, NONE of those worked. I thought replacing the battery would help, but as it turns out it would cost more money than to buy a new one or whatever. Please help me bring my Nexus 7 tablet back to life. I haven't been using it in months and it's bugging me. Thanks.

Nexus 7: Nexus 7 usb data damage

Hello, I have applied 5v to the data (minus) and (plus) side when dealing with the otg cable. Currently, when I connect a computer tablet, it does not appear in Device Manager and there is no notification on the tablet. The tablets do not react when I connect a USB device with otg. Could I have hurt the motherboard? Do I have a chip circuit component that I need to check on the motherboard?

Nexus 7: Why do the display asmbly rplcements look different from the original?

I was able to follow the guide and remove the display assembly from the Nexus 7 without too much difficulty. However, all of the available replacement assemblies I've been able to find (eBay, etc.) don't look the same as the part in the guide (or in my hand). They don't have the screw holes or pogo pins, and they don't have the silver border around the edge. Is there a frame to remove or do the replacement assemblies use clips instead of screws? - I'm afraid to plunk down 140 dollars and have the part shipped from China only to find it doesn't fit.

Nexus 7: Nexus 7 powers on, but is stuck on the start screen.

I tried to root my Nexus 7 using a Nexus Root Toolkit program while the device was connected to my PC. Initially I was successful, but then had issues running some apps on the device. I decided to restore my Nexus to factory settings using the root program to do so. I'm not quite sure what I did, but the device has been stuck on the start up screen ever since, with the white "Google" letters showing, and a lock in the unlocked position showing at the bottom of the screen. Nothing is affected if I touch the screen or toggle the volume buttons. If I had down the power button it simply powers off, and returns to the same screen when turned on. The Nexus Root program still recognizes the device, but does nothing if a command is run. I'm afraid that I might have "bricked" the tablet, as I had read it described.

Nexus 7: My battery has... yellow stuff on it? Is that okay?

First off, I should explain my question. My Nexus USB port became loose. I opened it, fixed the port, and then closed it. No charge. I opened it again, this time examining the battery due to the fact the I/O assembly isn't broken. I gave it to my good friend who has a degree in PC engineering, and he said it wouldn't manually charge and to examine it to figure out what's busted. I then cut a slit in the paper concealing the cords... to reveal a circuit board thing. With yellow, sticky juice on it (I can't describe it any other way). I then examined a battery from another Nexus. The yellow stuff wasn't on it. Could this have anything to do with my Nexus not charging? What should be done (he said the positive/negative cords could need resoldered, keep that in mind). I found nothing about this anywhere else, so I can't figure it out. Also: I removed the tape from the battery/ I/O. Could that affect it?
