Nintendo GameCube: Is there a way to fix my gamecube error?

For the past year whenever I turn on my nintendo gamecube it comes up with the error:

"An error has occurred. Turn the Power Off and check the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions fix"

Now, the only thing I can find online about this at all is the pdf for the Instruction manual which tells me to just call nintendo support. I did that a long time ago and they told me to send it in. I do not want to spend that kind of money, especially now that it is years outdated. Does anybody have any idea what the issue is? I love learning about electronics. Is it a motherboard issue? The disc spins and it is not game specific. The same message pops up even if there is no game. So far everybody online has been completely useless. I could easily drop a small amount of money and get another one these days, but then I would learn nothing about the system. I am doing this as a learning experience as to what makes electronics run.

Nintendo GameCube: Why can I not run Super Mario sunshine? The disc has no scrates.

I have two copies of Super mario sunshine and a working gamecube. The gamecube can run The Legend Of Zelda Collectors Edition (A bundle of a Windwaker trial, the original Legend of Zelda, a Link to the Past, and a few more). It works perfectly fine on all editions on the bundled disc. When I put in my super mario sunshine disc (either one of two) it plays the Nintendo logo and makes a sound, shows Dolby surround sound or whatever and then says "The disc could not be read..." This happens on both of the discs at the same point and neither have scratches. I don't have any more money for a new gamecube or another super mario sunshine copy. When I earn it, what do I do? I cannot diagnose the problem. I need help diagnosing it and finding the problem.

Nintendo GameCube: Right "bumper button" does not function when pressed?

I was apparently having too much fun with my Nintendo Gamecube. I pressed down a little too hard on the right bumper button while playing some Smash Brothers and now it does not register that it is being pressed. When I press the button, it still makes the "click" sound like the working one on the left. (aka. it doesn't "feel" like it is broken). I'm guessing a short or something?

My question is a two parter:

1. What type of screwdriver (opener?) do I need for the Game Cube controller?

2. Once I get it open, any ideas on what I need to look for to fix the device?

Nintendo GameCube: Why does the gamecube constantly freeze?

I'll be playing my game for around 20 minutes and the system will just freeze. Then I'm forced to restart. I'm kinda thinking it might be a overheating issue but I cleaned out all of the dust in the system. Furthermore, I've taken very good care of it. Nothing bad has ever happened to it. Any help would be appreciated. If more information is needed I can certainly supply it.

Nintendo GameCube: Why is my gamecube freezing at the start of some games?

When I want to start some games as Zelda Four swords adventure or Super Mario sunshine, the screen freezes once I press start at the title screen. The CDs are ok and work on the Wii. Other games like Metroid Prime or Sonic mega collection are working just fine.

I cleaned the interior with compressed air and the reader lens with alcohol, but nothing changed.

The clock battery is dead, might it be the cause? Or should I consider replacing the motherboard / console?

Nintendo GameCube: Why does my game cut off?

Certain times I can play for a while fine. Other times I play for a bit, and the game will cut out. Now it's pretty much cutting out after reading and loading the disc. The signal cuts out and the power light indicator turns off, but the fan continues to run, and the disc continues to spin. I have vacuumed the side vents with a brush attachments, which worked for a short period.

I want to ask if someone who is more experienced with the gamecube then I am can show me like a Wiring Diagram of the Gamecube's Power Board? I have a Multimeter, but I'm a little new to that as well so I just need a wiring diagram for the gamecube so I can try to check the power board on my gamecube with the multimeter.

Nintendo GameCube: Only when disk tray is closed I have '' An error has occurred ''

My gamecube is booting fine, but if i have my disk tray closed or when a small sound coming from the disk reader ( still with the disk tray closed ) it will show me a red error message with the text : An error has occurred. Turn the Power Off and check the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions fix

I tried to boot the gamecube with the disk tray open, i don't have the small startup sound with the animation, it just shows gamecube, then it goes to the main menu. If i do this and then close my disk tray the error is coming back and i have to restart my gamecube.

It do exactly the same with a game.

I don't really understand what is happening, i checked the potentiometer ( it's between 150-250 ohm ) and my lens is not dirty or anything. This is really related to the disk tray and i don't get what could be the problem here. Probably the disk reader but where and what cause this ?

If someone have an answer at least to understand what is happening here it would be really nice.

Thanks
