Nintendo Wii: Freezing up at Black Health Screen

When I boot on my Wii, it loads as far as the black "Press A to continue" screen warning about seizures and epilepsy or what have you, then... stops. In fact, the option to press A never shows up and I am unable to connect the Wiimotes.

This particular Wii is not modded though I have soft modded two previous Wiis with no problem.

The only suggestion I seem to have found is to boot up a disc of New Super Mario Bros Wii, as that contains the 4.2 update and this error sometimes occurs if an update is corrupted. However, I don't have a hard copy of the game handy.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Tried booting into NSMB after leaving it unplugged for an hour but no dice. Also, the Wiimotes now connect for some reason, but it seems to be unrelated to the game.

Nintendo Wii: How do I fix wii red blinking light

When I plug in my wii the power light blinks red. Every time I press the power button it has no effect on it. I have tried press and holding the power, reset, sync, almost every button on the wii. The only thing that I haven’t done is actually tear apart the wii and find out what might of went wrong. So is there anything I can do before I try ripping it open? I have had this wii for like 5 years so I think it might just be old but it’s still worth a shot seeing if anyone on here could help.

Nintendo Wii: official ifixit replacement part IF207-001-4 not reading Wii dual disk

A while back my white launch Wii (which is obviously model RVL-001) stopped recognizing all disks, whereas before it read Gamecube disks, regular Wii disks, and my dual layer Wii disks like Other M, Prime Trilogy, Brawl and Xenoblade. I purchased the official ifixit part IF207-001-4 (new) from this website (the part stated to be compatible with my model Wii) and handed it and the Wii off to a professional console repair person. I got it back today and tested it. It read all the Gamecube games I tried. I then put Other M in and it threw up a black screen that said "An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disk, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." I tried it three times before moving on to other Wii games. After several worked in a row with no problems I tried Other M again and this time it simply didn't recognize the disk. I tried every Wii game I own and found that they all worked except for the Dual Layer Disk games I had on hand which weren't recognized. Do I try to get a replacement replacement from ifixit? What gives? Wait a minute... the new DVD drive part came with a new replacement lens didn't it?
