Nintendo Wii: Wii powers on, with sound but no video.

My wii works perfectly fine. The only issue I have is when I boot it up (Red light to green light), sound comes out of the tv, but no video is shown. I have gone through five different brands and types of wii video/audio cables and nothing has worked. I think it has something to do with the video plug inside the console. Can anyone help me with this?

Nintendo Wii: A/V jack messed up- Screen flickers on and off

My wii keeps losing video/audio. It happens intermittently. I've determinded it's something with the A/V jack on the back of the console. When in "jiggle" the cable at the console connector back and forth the audio/video cuts in and out. Sometimes the video stays on but the colors don't appear correct.

is there an easy fix for this? i'm not afraid of tearing it apart and doing a little solder-work. Just don't know where to start or what to look for...

Nintendo Wii: No picture/sound after formatting Wii and ejecting disc, what do I do?

I formatted my Wii, returning it to its factory state, and I then shut it down. Immediately after shutting it down, I remembered that there was a game disc still inside the system, so with everything still connected, I hit the eject button, which turned it on, but no picture or sound came from the TV. The disc didn't come out at first, so I hit the eject button a couple of times quickly, with the disc coming out after maybe the second or third time, but still no picture or sound. I turned it off and on again multiple times, disconnected and reconnected the cables, but still no picture or sound.

Nintendo Wii: Wii USB port 0 not working, flip connections with port 1?

It seems my WII USB port 0 (the lower one) stopped working. Unfortunately i can't understand if it's a mechanical problem (burnt connector cable) or a USB controller chip problem.

Anyway, since Wii's USB ports are used for different purposes, and i don't need the port 1 while i really need port 0, I thought to somehow flip the USB connections.

In this way the Wii will recognize as port 0 the upper port and not the lower.

Do you think is possible to make such a fix?

In no step-by-step/teardown guide here i found about the opening of the USB connectors box. Has anybody of you tried that? What problems could i incurr in?

Any idea/hint is welcome

Wii Motion Plus: Wii motion plus needs recalibrating more than should be necessary

Hello! I have a first party Wii Motion Plus that seems to need recalibrating way more than should be necessary. As in recalibrating is necessary every 5 minutes with this thing. Oddly enough, moving the remote around in a circle (as in "drawing" an imaginary circle in the air with the tip of the remote) seems to help somehow. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with this, or is this normal? UPDATE: After trying it with a different Wii Remote, it seems to stay much more calibrated, but it still drifts a little bit. I also took the jacket off, so it's possible that that helped. I have no way to be sure which, though.

Nintendo Wii: What are my options with a disc drive that does not read games?

I have spent a good couple hours looking up if this is a problem that can be fixed and the only conclusions people have come to is replacing the laser or the entire drive. I’ve heard of cleaning the laser, tightening it to increase the diode strength (which I don’t think is my problem since I could read Other M in ‘10) and that seems to be all. I have a good number of these said “broken” drives and I wish to make the most of this. If anyone has experience with how to clean the lens efficiently/effectively then I would love to hear your technique too.

Nintendo Wii: Black screen even after bluetooth module replacement

Hello,

I have an old Nintendo Wii that used to work fine. But one day, I don't know why, it decided to show a black screen when I turn it on.

So I looked a lot on the internet and I found that it sometimes happens because the bluetooth module is dead. Indeed my Wiimotes don't sync anymore with the console.

So I bought a new bluetooth module and I replaced it with the iFixit tutorial.

It's not working any better. The Wii still get on, but the screen is still black and the wiimotes still don't sync.

I've read on internet that I should also replace the wifi module. But I'm wondering if it's necessary because even after changing the bluetooth module the wii still can't sync the wiimotes. So is it usefull to change the wifi module with that information ?

My Wii was jailbroken with the homebrew chanel and I don't think it is bricked, I tried to launch priiloader by pressing power and resest button but it does not do anything.

Thank you for your help and sorry for long post and bad english.

Nintendo Wii: error. eject and turn off and refer to owners manuel.

My Wii will not play any of my Wii disc games. However it will play all downloaded games and allow me to use Netflix and so on. Please !&&*. I'd hate to have to buy a new one. Or even pay or repair that will likely add up to what a new one would cost. Please help. Thank you.

Nintendo Wii: "System Files Corrupted" error when accessing Wii settings menu

I got an RVL-001 Wii from a thrift store. It is unmodded and on version 4.3U as far as I can tell. It reads discs well enough to display the game channel correctly but won't start them. It also throws a "system files are corrupt" error message when I try to access the Wii settings menu, but I can access the data management menu. I've deleted some channels thinking it might be a banner brick issue. Starting in maintenance mode doesn't help, either. I tried installing homebrew through the bluebomb method but have been unsuccessful. Is this salvageable, or is the thing bricked?

Nintendo Wii: Wii turns on to black screen and no audio

Hello. My Wii is old as heck but was working fairly well until recently. It turns on to a black screen with no audio. I am getting a source on the TV but there is no response from the Wii. It cannot sync with remotes. It can accept and eject discs still and the all of the lights look normal. I have tried replacing the Bluetooth controller already but that made no difference. There is no visible damage anywhere inside or outside of the machine.

I'm wondering if the Bluetooth controller card I bought may have been DOA or if there is another repair I should try. I have read that this can be a software problem sometimes but there is so much out there to read on these old things.
