Bosch Refrigerator: Bosch thermal switch replace

Hello,

I have a Bosch KGU57990/03 fridge and the defrost thermal fuse/thermal switch has failed.

The original complete part is:

Heater-defrost, thermal fuse included — Bosch reference 00266836

The heating element itself is working correctly, so I would prefer to replace only the thermal fuse instead of buying the complete heater assembly, which is quite expensive.

The markings on the original thermal switch appear to be:

43F / 77158

Does anyone know the correct opening/cut-off temperature and reset temperature for this thermal switch, or a compatible replacement reference?

I would also appreciate confirmation of whether it is a resettable thermal switch or a one-shot thermal fuse.

LRTLS2403S/01 Fridge with water dispenser. When adding the ice maker kit it came with a solenoid but no harness. It said plug it in but nothing there but a female 6 pin that already has 4 of them filled by the water dispenser. Is this six pin designed for one dual valve or two individual because they both call for fill from the same two wires . The other four no or low volts.

KitchenAid Refrigerator: Not cooling... AND ITS BACK!

I have Kitchenaid refrigerator KBRA22ERSS01.

The other night it started making a consistent running noise and in the morning was warm and the temp was increasing quickly.

I used a long brush to clean underneath which was a MESS. A repairperson came to check it and said it was dead and recommended a new one. Its only 10 years old.

We plugged it back in, moved the freezer contents to our chest freezer, and put some ice in there to keep the fridge cool (circulating).

Here's where the story gets odd: 24 hours later the temp dropped again! And is now back to normal 48 hours later.

Will this last (the repair place I called in confusion says no)?

We have ordered a new one but if this one is BACK TO LIFE that would be great!

Samsung Refrigerator: (Help) Refrigerator stops once temperature reached.

Hi, I recently moved into a new apartment that I’m renting, and inside there’s a SAMSUNG RSA1UTPE fridge-freezer combo, probably around 10 years old. On the front panel, I can set the temperature for the freezer and the fridge. I set the freezer to -25°C and the fridge to 3°C.

The issue is that, although the display shows those target temperatures, the freezer is actually just cool but not cold. The fan isn’t running. If I unplug and plug the fridge back in, the temperatures on the display update correctly with the real values (it shows 9°C for both the freezer and fridge), and the fan starts running again. After about two hours, the temperature drops slowly, until the display goes back to showing -25°C for the freezer, and the fan stops once more.

It seems like the sensor doesn’t register rising temperatures unless I power cycle the fridge. I even replaced the cover that includes the sensor + fan (with the exact same reference part), but the issue keeps happening.

So my question is: why does the freezer work for a while and then stop, only restarting if I unplug and replug the fridge?

Miele Refrigerator: Variable freezer temperature, variable and too hot fridge

Hi, I have a Miele KDN12823S combined freezer-fridge. Freezer at bottom, fridge at top. Problem1: too wide temperature swings in freezer. Temperature should be around -20 degrees Celsius. However compressor does not start before -10 degrees Celsius is reached, and then draws it down to -30 degrees Celsius. Problem2: temperature in fridge is set to 5 degrees Celsius, but is warmer, around 8 degrees. It also varies a lot, between 6 and 10. Appliance has been turned off for 48 hours, so is defrosted. Temperature sensor in freezer has been changed, so works. I have a network connected TempStick in freezer that reports temperature every 30min, so have a temperature graph of the freezer. As far as I understand, both fridge and freezer has its own evaporator, which means there is no damper control. Freezer fan has been tested and works. What could be the problem?

Bottom Freezer door only opens approximately 6 inches. cannot see any reason for this. Appears to be a problem with the rail on the left side of the drawer.

KitchenAid Refrigerator: Water and Ice dispenser lights flickering

I have a kitchenaid refridgerator model krff577kps. Lately the lights at the water and ice dispenser have been flickering and the fridge itself is making a weird noise. When I open the doors, the noise stops, but sometimes all the lights inside the fridge will turn off and on a couple of times. It also won't dispense water or ice at times. I replaced the light in the freezer and had no luck, it still continues flickering. Anybody else have this issue with their fridge?

LG Refrigerator: LG Ice maker water dispenser is leaking

My LG Bottom drawer ice maker water dispenser is leaking. Defrosting the unit does not correct. The leaking water dispenser quickly overwhelms the ice maker, freezing it into immobilization. Is anyone familiar with this issue/point of failure?

Temperature variations unacceptable. On some shelves food freezes, other shelves or drawers too warm and groceries wilt. Front side of the second shelf from the top seems the worst for freezing. Procduce drawer (second from bottom) seems to be the worst for being too warm. Whagt is wrong that could produce this enormous range of temperatures in the refrigerator?

A few years ago, I got my roommate this little desktop fridge to put his drinks in. After a few months, it stopped working.

When switched on, the light will blink once around every second, at the same time the fan attempts to start turning but only 'flinches' lightly. Every time it 'blinks', there's also a very tiny and soft 'zz' noise.

I've opened the fridge up, and the sound seems to be coming from the motherboard somewhere but I can't tell where exactly, or what the exact problem is. It was a bit dusty inside, but nothing really out of the ordinary and even after air dusting it, it behaves the same way.

I do see some bits that look kind of rough. The soldering job in some places looks like something I would do (weird and messy).

Any idea what I should look for or do to fix it?

EDIT: I don't know why I didn't think to do this before, but I did find my voltage tester, and found that the blue wire coming from the AC power socket does not seem to be emitting any power. Since I'm very new to this, I admittedly don't really know that much...

The question is now how should I go about fixing this, assuming this wire is the problem? I have pretty limited tools. I don't think I even have a de-soldering tool.

EDIT 2 (July 2026): Sorry I never got back to the comments. I ended up not having any time to work on this. I gave it back to my friend and told him to try the other power cord type. No word on if he ever tried it out, and I don't expect there will be an answer anytime soon. There are still two very helpful comments people can defer to, though!

Bosch Refrigerator: How to replace fridge damage/broken lamp holder

Old Bosch fridge lamp holder is damaged/broken, ended up removing the whole thing (by breaking it up to smaller pieces with a pair of needles nose plier) 2 ferrule terminated connection wires, blue & orange is all remains of the damaged lamp holder.

I can find a replacement lamp holder online for it but not sure how to connect it up to the 2 ferrule terminated connection wires?

Not sure if a wire connection block is required to do so or just push the ferrule terminated wires direct into the rear holes of the replacement lamp holder holes?

Maytag Refrigerator: 3 Door Frige door staying open issue

I have a Maytag 3 door frige MFT2673BEM11, when closing the left door the door on the right pops open. This just started in the last few weeks and the frige is 13 years old. I thoroughly cleaned and applied a little vaseline to the door seals, raised the front feet as far as they'll go and adjusted the right door so it's absolutely even with the left door. Unlesss the left door is closed very sllowly or gently the right door pops open and stays open, can't get kids and wife to close it gently so the %#*@ right door is always slightly ajar! What can I try next? the seals look to be in good condition as is the magnetic part on the left door. HELP PLELASE!

Tested the evap fan, thermostat, heating coil, thermester and they all have continuity. The fridge and freezer are both having trouble getting cold, cold air is coming out but not cold enough. Any idea what I should test next?
