Irobot Roomba 980: Roomba gets "stuck" in certain locations

There are three locations in my house where my 981 consistently gets "stuck" and requires a job restart. Since I'm not usually home when he runs, this has become very old.

1) A location in my kitchen where there are no obvious obstacles. There is a low pile entry rug, that's it.

2) Leaving Bathroom #1 where there is a transition threshold from tile to wood flooring, a drop of about 1/2".

3) Leaving Bathroom #2 where there is a similar transition with less of a drop.

Measures taken:

1) Brand new, OEM battery.

2) I have disassembled way down (to exposed PCBs). Blown all dust out of everywhere. Cleaned all sensors.

3) Using a tablet, checked wifi signal at all locations. 2 and 3 are strong, 1 is less so but still not bad.

4) Ran through the BITs, all sensors passed. Even when hooked up to the USB port.

5) Endless reboots.

6) Several factory resets.

Does this ring any bells for anyone? I like Phred. I need Phred because I have a golden retreiver. I just bought new stuff (filters, etc.) for Phred. I don't want a new Phred.

iRobot Roomba S9 Plus: Why does my Roomba beeping and 12 white circles followed by red circle

I was gone for a couple days and my Roomba got stuck in an area it doesn't normally go to. Since then I can not get it to work. The lid circles white 12 times then has a lower and higher beep. Then lid then goes red for about 4 seconds. The cycle then repeats until I remove the battery. I have removed the left and right wheels and even the front bumper and still continues with the same pattern. At one point I got an Error 24 message and no reporting since. Any suggestions as to what is the solution or other things to try resolve this?

Hello

The vacuum cleaner turns on when connected to the charging station, but does not want to move, it flashes red.

Has anyone had a similar case? I bet that the battery needs to be replaced, but I don't want to spend money unnecessarily.

My roomba 690 goes backwards and circles like it doesn’t know what to do. I’ve replaced new cliff sensors, wheels, bumper sensors, IR sensor, and the rim that has the tiny bulbs. I’ve reset it and am wondering is it most likely the mother board? Could it be the battery? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Fixers,

I am looking for the replacement battery for the iRobot Roomba 690. The iFixit site has a battery for the 691, but I’m not sure if it’s the same format since the 691 originally spec’d to have a 60 minute runtime and the 690 has a 90 minute runtime.

Does anyone know if the iFixit battery is the same as the 90 minute Li-ion from iRobot? Thanks!

iRobot Roomba 655 Pet Series: Error 3 while trying to charge the battery.

The battery is not getting charged. It shows error 3 while trying to charge. I have tried to reset the program by simultaneously pressing the 2 buttons for over 10 seconds as recommended. The error 3 shows up when trying to charge.

The problem started after changing the battery. I was able to charge 3 or 4 times after changing the battery. I was advised to clean the contacts which I did but the error 3 still shows.

Samsung POWERbot R7070: Powerbot won't turn on at all

I have had my Powerbot R7070 for a bit over a year now, so it’s no longer covered by warranty.

Recently it stopped turning on, and I was told the problem would likely be with the battery. So, I ordered a new battery and replaced it.

The powerbot still won’t turn on.

I have followed directions on samsung’s support website, about letting it charge for a while, then toggling the emergency switch off and back on, then holding down the start button, but there’s no indication of the powerbot getting any power.

I also checked the charging dock’s charging pins with a multimeter, and it seems to be working fine, so something is wrong with the vacuum itself.

Any ideas?

One wheel turns with much more friction than the other. Because these two side wheels don’t come out of the robot, it’s hard to inspect the wheel fully. I’ve cleaned away all debris that I have access to and can see, but still it turns poorly. Every time I try to use the robot, I get the error message C4. Is there anything I can do?

Hi I have a Roomba 561. I hadn't used it for a while and couldn't get the battery to charge when I went to use it. Now I have put a new battery in and it still wouldn't charge so I bought new charger. It now charges with direct connection. It still wouldn't dock. It would move into the station go back and forth and back or turn out of it . I cleaned all of the connectors and ordered a new docking station when that didn't work. Got new docking station todayband roomba does the same thing. Not sure what else to do. It all worked fine a year ago when I last used it.

Hi,

The "clean my brush" warning came on today, but the brushes are clean. I noticed that the large brush is not spinning. It appears the bearing is stuck. I am wondering how I can get a replacement part for this item.

iRobot Roomba 860: No suction Roomba 860 less than one year old

The suction has quit on our roomba 860 we’ve had for less than a year. The beaterbars are flinging some debris into the canister, but the majority of hair, dust, etc. just sits on the cusp of the canister so when you go to empty it all the debris spills everywhere (fun).

After a cursory search I haven’t found any links or similar questions.

How do we fix this??
