Samsung Galaxy S9: Caller can't hear me, but I can hear them

I have a Samsung Galaxy s9 and shortly after getting it I began having problems with people hearing me over phone calls. I can hear them fine, but I also get a bad echo of my own voice when I talk (worse when I use speakerphone). I can use headphones and they can hear me then, and if I am using a video app like Google Duo they can hear me as well. I have tried my SIM card in a different phone and it worked fine, and I can use record videos and audio on my phone and hear just fine. Tried restarting in safe mode and that didn’t fix it either. Anyone know what the issue might be or other possible ways to fix it?

Samsung Galaxy S9: How to attach Samsung Galaxy S9 Front Glass

Hello,

First, I’ll let you know. I am not a fixer, a hobbyist, or technologically savvy at all.

I recently purchased a new front glass for the Galaxy S9 and the Iopener from IFIXIT and have followed all the steps to replace the front glass via their instruction page as well as their youtube channel. Things were off to a rough start with removing the back glass, but eventually, I got it. I followed the subsequent steps and now I am at the final step attaching the front glass.

I can not figure out how to attach the wire strip that comes off the front glass. Is it magnetized? Did I miss a step? Is my phone more damaged than I originally thought? How do we actually connect the front glass to the phone?

I am starting to think that this was a venture too big for me and just waster $200+ dollars to save $70 and now ultimately will have to go buy a new phone.

Any assistance/hope that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and I'm planning on replacing the display as the one currently on the phone is cracked and doesn't receive touch input on most of the screen surface area.

The S9 I'm going to be working on has had some damage and I'm hoping if anyone here could give me some advice on whether I should go ahead without getting a new frame or replacing the frame and the screen.

Samsung Galaxy S9: Display flickering and tinted green

Hello,

As of yesterday I am having some issues with the display of my Galaxy S9. My screen is super washed out and dark and tinted yellow/green. It sometimes goes back to normal, but will randomly give issues again as I use it.

I did have a spill a couple of weeks ago, after which I immediately powered the phone off and cleaned all of the ports with electrical contact cleaner. Then I let the phone dry out for around 3 days. It was working fine after that until yesterday.

The issue:

Screen is washed out / yellowed, not very bright, sometimes flickering.

Using the brightness slider makes the screen even worse.

When powering the phone off, it shows the Galaxy S9 logo with a normal screen, and midway displaying the “Samsung” logo, it turns terrible again.

The screen looks normal in screen recordings and in screen mirroring, so I don’t believe this to be a graphics issue.

What I’ve tried:

Leaving the phone off for a few days in dessicant.

Restarting the phone in safe mode, didn’t seem to help.

Uninstalling recently installed apps, didn’t help.

In the past 2-3 weeks, there has been a number of reports about a similar screen issue with the S9. This is leading me to believe it may be something related to firmware or software updates, rather than related to my spill.

My phone is getting quite old as I purchased it on release. I was looking into replacing the battery and fingerprint sensor anyways, as they are both quite used. I figured I might as well get everything done at once.

I found this video on YouTube which shows what I believe to be the same issue - https://youtu.be/k8ybjAjardI - in which the solution is to replace the display flex connector of the screen, rather than the entirety of the display.

Can somebody explain to me where to get that part, and how exactly to replace it? The video is quite confusing, but the part is supposedly quite cheap compared to the screen. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on in the video.

Thanks for any tips and help.

Samsung Galaxy S9: Why would the GPS not be working after a screen/battery replacement?

Hi everyone. This is my first post. I figured I'd come on here and see if anyone knew more than me about the S9.

I fixed my girlfriend's Galaxy S9 with parts from InjuredGadjets.com. I got a new display+frame, and a new battery since hers was shot, barely lasting an hour on a full charge. Ever since I fixed it a couple months ago, her Google Maps is unable to navigate due to a lack of a GPS signal. The marker/arrow that indicates us/our vehicle turns gray and the app says "Searching for GPS". Eventually Maps will just give up and verbalize "GPS signal lost". We've tried wiping the cache, both from the partition and the app itself, force stopping Maps, starting the S9 in safe mode, and I even tore the phone down again and made sure ribbon cables were seated and re-seated them. Still nothing.

Am I missing something here? Maybe I missed a ribbon cable somewhere? Do the antenna cables have anything to do with the GPS? Her data signal is fine, and she can still make calls.

I also read that sometimes 3rd party batteries can cause this issue. Is that true? Maybe that's the case. The battery is an XCap or whatever.

I really appreciate any guidance on this. The initial repair of the phone was easy, but this issue definitely should get fixed. Last week there was an accident on the road and she struggled to get home from work because she couldn't use Google Maps. Usually I'm the one who drives us around and navigates using my S10e with Android Auto, but this should still definitely get fixed in case of an emergency.

Thank you for your help!
