LG Television: Loud bang then tv powered off

Hi. I wonder if someone can help

Just a few minutes of turning on the TV there was a loud bang then the tv power was lost. There was no smoke or smell. It appears that there is a tiny component with black around it on the power board.

I was advised by someone that I could replace the blown component on the board, but that could mean the cause of it to blow could still be there and was advised to get a new power board.

I contacted LG but they said they don’t sell internal boards to private individuals. I looked on ebay and found several boards that looked identical but was warned by the sellers that the numbers had to match up. It wasn’t clear where i find these numbers as it just said sticker and the only sticker i could find looked more like a serial number. Also these boards were around 50€ which seems expensive for a second hand part I have no guaranty is going to work itself

Can someone tell me what would be my best course of action? Especially if they have had a similar experience. The TV is jsut over 6 years old. Its an LG 42LN5708

Sony Television: Got a new Tcon board but now getting an error.

I recently had my picture go out on my Sony XBR 900E TV. After some research it seemed the reason was a bad Tcon board. I made sure I got the right model and that the new board had the same ID number as the old one. Well after instalation, when I turned the TV on I no longer even have the back light tun on and the LED blinks green and red. I put the old board back in and it tuned on as normal but still no picture. So my situation is: Old card has sound and black light but no picture. New card has no backlight and blinking LED. Did I just get a bad new card, or am I missing something here?

Vizio D-Series 50-inch LED TV: Can’t get rid of red vertical line on Vizio tv screen.

I have a permanent red line going down the left hand side of my Vizio TV . It’s there even when the tv is on but the screen is black. Model M70-C3

Here is a photo.

i have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cables to the tc board and the pressing at the cables going to the screen by the line both did nothing to change the line.

Pressing on the screen will make the line slightly fade for a split second or two but then the red line of pixels just comes back. The line also fades toward the bottom of the screen for the last 6 inches or so.

[image|2628444]I've had an LG smart tv for about 8 months. One day I began having strange color Distortions that seem to bleed from certain objects as they pass. It's not an all the time occurrence. If you look near the pause icon and near Rikers throat you can see it. Most of the time it's colors spilling off moving logos and yellows and greens playing off each other.

I typically noticed during gaming and non animated shows. I've swapped HDMI cables, tried all available ports, done a factory reset, and used different video game consoles. Is there a fix or this tv shot? Thanks.

LG Television: How do I find a universal LCD driver board matching my LCD panel?

A couple years ago, I managed to extend the life of my LCD TV using a very basic trick. I thought the main board was fried, but ironically, baking it fixed it :-D.

The whole story is here: 42LD75LGD: No sound and no input/output. Main board fried? if someone’s interested in the background.

Anyway, now the mainboard is fried for good (after being baked 4 times), and I want to find a universal board, but I have no idea how to find one that matches my LCD panel. The panel model is LC420WUH (SC)(M1). Back then @oldturkey03 had kindly helped and found the specs sheet for the panel: LC420WUH-SCM1-LG.pdf .

When looking for generic boards online, most of them need to be connected to a T-CON board, but this particular TV doesn’t have a T-CON. It seems to be embedded in the main board.

So my question is quite simple: how do I go about finding a generic board that matches the LCD panel? I’ve spent hours looking for it using search engines, online shops (from big ones to small ones) and other resources, but no luck so far.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Television: Sharp 50" green light comes on, no pic or sound. then wont power off

I have a Sharp LC-50LE442U tv. I plug it in and get the red power light. Nothing is blinking. I can hit the power button and the red light turns into a solid green light. No picture or sound. I hit the power button to turn it off and it says green. Any idea what could be going on with it?

Samsung 60" LED TV UN60FH6003FXZA: What should I do when I cannot turn my TV on after plugging in a USB?

Hi there. So, a while ago, we watch a movie on the TV. We plugged in a Flash drive and it turned out normally. There was no problem with the TV recognizing the Flash Drive as well as the Folders in it. But now the TV won’t turn on.

LG Television: LG 55LM5850 Dark Screen

I have a 5 year old LG 55LM5850 3D TV that up until 2 days ago worked fine. It comes on for a bout a min. or so and then the screen starts to darken to the point where there is no bright lit areas. The screen is dark and you can hold up a flash light to it and see a faint picture. sound and everything else works fine. I realize its at the 5 year mark and I am going to replace it. however, I would like to look at fixing it my self and wondered if any one had any suggestions?
