Xbox 360 S: Open 360 S HDD Enclosure

Has anyone tried or posted a manual for opening the HDD enclosuer for an Xbox 360 S model HDD. I want to upgrade my old non-S Xbox to the 320 GB drive, but MS doesn't make it in the old enclosure style, and I'm not a fan of aftermarket.

If I crack open the S HDD case will it still just be a standard 2.5 inch drive inside like the old enclosure?

I've tried searching the web for this but have been unsuccessful thus far. I figured if anyone would know the answer it would be the iFixit community.

Xbox 360 S: Red dot blinks 11-12 times

My Xbox 360 slim will not boot up after turning it on on the green button turns red and blinks about 11-12 times with a loud fan noise then shuts back off. I have looked everywhere for a fix for this and have found nothing except people with the same problem. This video is exactly what mine does and there have been no fixes for it yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMwajymV...

I have no warranty and already taken it apart to clean it but it really did nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would be super greatful for a solution.

Xbox 360 S: Xbox 360 red dots on cold start, runs fine warm. Why?

This is a model I’m using to learn more about repair. I broke a screw head on the heat sink so I’m pretty sure that is the issue, but for reassurance that I’m understanding what is happening I’d like second opinions. I warmed up the heat sink with a hair dryer thinking maybe the thermal paste needed to warm up to settle, and booted the Xbox with no issue. It started up, it played games, connected to the internet, wrote to the hard drive. Acted like new, however after letting it cool it immediately red dots. I am trying this with all the screws and parts attached except that one single screw on the heatsink that snapped. The sink makes a solid connection to the chip, so would that one single screw really be the issue, or is there something else I’m not understanding happening behind the scenes? Thank you in advance! (Note: I have also already bridged the zero-ohm resistors known to cause the false overheat. After that I intentionally took the motherboard out to clean everything with rubbing alcohol 91%, that’s when it started red dotting again)

Xbox 360 S: XBOX Live update wont update error message

I have tried everything to get my son's XBOX 360S 4GB to take the updates that the XBOX state need to be performed to no avail. I spoken with XBOX on 2 separate occassions to try and correct the error message and still no help. The call center people were a waste of my time. The error code I keep getting is:

Can't process the update. If problem persists, go to XBOX Support

Status Code: 3F4B-4099-1780-0700-C000-000E

I have downloaded the update onto a DVD and tried to install the update that way and nothing as well as to a jump drive. None of the recommendations on XBOX or any of the forums have helped. My son will bring his external hard drive home from his grand parents home (that does have the update) and it works fine. I have removed his external hard drive we have at home to try to get the update and nothing, Xbox wants to charge me $80 to send in for repair or replacement (refurbished). Is there anything else I can try or replace on my own? This is the 2 time since we have had the XBOX that it needs repaired. My son doesn't do the updates when they pop up like he should and I wonder if that has caused his system to not respond to the things we have tried to do to fix it. Please help!
