Microsoft Zune HD: Question Re: Display Settings and TV Output

I have a Zune 1402 32gb, I recently purchased a LG LCD tv. I want to play video from my Zune on the TV. I've hooked up the appropriate cords to the right ports, and all that happens is that I can hear the audio.

When I go to the Settings feature on my zune, and hit display and then TV Output, Off, HDMI Auto, HDMI 720P, HDMI 480P and Composite Video show up, and when I select any, nothing really happens.

Any ideas on what I need to do to ge the video to come over?

Thanks you.

Zune Flash 2nd Generation: Third party battery replacement different wire colors?

Recently pulled this old Zune out of storage and attempted to replace the battery with a supposed 'like new' third party one. Getting in and doing the soldering work was a breeze with the instructions here. However I'm still not getting the Zune to boot up.

The third party battery did have a different wire color. Red, White, Black, and Green compared to Red, White, Black, and Blue on the original. All were soldered to the same place with Green in the same places as Blue originally.

Anyone else had any luck with these and getting the Zune to boot up?

Microsoft Zune 30 GB: Can I salvage Zune 30gb data with Error 5?

Hey everyone,

I found my old 30gb Zune in the bottom of a bin in my garage and the bugger actually boots still!

Unfortunately I get an Error 5 screen when it tries to boot. I know that it is recommended to factory reset to get it working again, but that wipes the hard drive.

Is there any way to extract the data before wiping the drive? Would have been nice to see this time capsule from my high school days.

Thanks in advance for the help!
