iPad 4 Wi-Fi: iPad 4 - LCD ribbon cable problem

Hi all,

Today I tried to change my touch screen of my broken iPad. This all went without problems, but when I tried to install everything back, I had problem with installing the ribbon cable of the LCD. As you can see on the photo, the white stripe on the cable is not pushed in enough to work. At the touch cables the white stripe isn't visible, because this one is fitted well.

Why is the cable not going far enough? I don't want to put too much force to it.

Thanks in advance.

iPad 4 Wi-Fi: Ipad 4 Restore failure

I have ipad 4 which was working perfectly well until about 3-4 years ago when I opted to do the Apple recommended software update. And for some reason it failed and I got the connect to iTunes Screen. I tried several times to restore it via iTunes and it goes through the motions of software and firmware update but at the end of it all, it gives message that iPad can not be restored. The last few lines in the update log File are as listed at the end.

I now have iPad Pro but I would like to get my iPad 4 working again. The Apple shop have been their usual total waste of time self as all they are interested in is selling me a replacement iPad 4... so all I got from them is the usual salesman BS.

I have already tried all the Apple recommended procedures. i will be grateful for any tips on what the problem may be and how to fix it.

iPad 4 GSM: My iPad(4thGen) is not keeping a charge but will charge fully.

My ipad charges fully but it does not keep the charge even when not in use, it drains fast. We have taken it to change the battery twice with different repair shops both focus on apple products. In both times the ipad charged and kept the charge according to the the repair persons, but when we brought it home the charge did not hold with the new batteries each time. Both times took it back got refunded. The 1st repair shop didn't know what was wrong. The 2nd repair shop said that to logic board might not be letting the battery keep the charge. Has this happen to anyone? If it is the logic board can I replace it? Will it have any effect on the ipad? What does the logic board do to the battery? How can I be sure that it is the logic board? Could it be something else? Thank you for any response.

iPad 4 Wi-Fi: Home button ribbon doesn't fit.

I bought a home button ribbon from y'all and the this new one doesn't fit in the port. I had to buy a new one because too many attempts with the other replacement (which also didn't fit) I suspect damaged the ribbon. When I try the old original ribbon, it fits just fine and the screen reacts when it's inserted. There is obviously not a one size fits all replacement that I have been sent twice now. What needs to happen in order to get the correct ribbon?

iPad 4 Wi-Fi: iPad 4 Shuts Off and Boot loops after unlocking

I have an iPad 4 wifi that was given to me with a broken screen and is shutting off and boot looping after pressing the home button to wake or unlocking with passcode. I replaced the digitizer successfully and have tested it for the few seconds to sometimes 1 minute that it stays on. I did not adhere it to the case yet as I’m thinking I’ll need to do something else in there to get it working. the Basic troubleshooting was done, such as a hard reset. iTunes restore was completed successfully but did not correct the problem. It stayed on for about 10 minutes after the restore but then went back to shutting off. The device will turn on and as soon as the home button is pressed, or the passcode is entered, it usually shuts off and starts boot looping until it turns back on again. If I don’t touch it, it will stay on and eventually the screen will sleep. If I wake it with any input, it shuts off. Battery says 100% charge. Any suggestions on what to try next?

iPad 4 GSM: Display wont turn on, iTunes says its powered

Hi,

Got an iPad here that the customer said its just not powering on. I plugged it into the PC and opened 3uTools and it wasn't turned on. I charged it for more than 24 hours waiting for life but there was none. I changed the charging port and still made no difference. So I tried a new LCD whilst it showed the Apple logo (White) it went back off after it flashed about 3 times. I have since changed the battery too and It seemed to have more power. I was able to reflash the iOS thinking it could just be a bad software glitch and it seemed to have worked. I can setup the iPad as new and seemed ok.

But after the setup when the screen timeout kicks in I cannot get it to turn the display back on. iTunes and 3uTools says its turned on but there is no display. I've tried 2 new screens now and its still the same.

Any Ideas?
