iPhone 11: After replacing battery, and keeping the old BMS, sometimes it says 1%

Hi all DIY folks,

I'm having a odd problem when I'm replacing battery cells on iPhone 11. But first, let me explain to you how I succesfully multiple times have managed to avoid permanently installing the tag-on flex cable between the socket and the battery flex cable.

Maybe you can spot a thing I'm doing wrong here.

Take out old battery of iPhone 11
Install compatible battery with unoriginal BMS, in order to 'reset' BMS info in the iPhone.
Start up the iPhone, and let it recognize the unoriginal battery
Shut it down again, remove battery.
Remove BMS from original battery, spot weld a new battery cell to the BMS
Attach a tag-on flex cable, program the tag-on flex using JCV1SE or other programmer
Attach the battery with tag-on flex to iPhone, start it up.
Verify that it reads the percentage correctly (100%)
Shut down the iphone
Remove the Tag-on flex cable
Install the battery, start up the Phone.
The phone still says genuine battery and 100%

So this has been my preferred procedure when installing replacement batteries, also because I can save money on the relatively pricey tag-on flex.

However, once in a while, my customers return the phone to me saying that it only says 1% and cannot charge. Sometimes I need to do the procedure again. This last time, I chose to leave the tag-on flex inside the phone permanently.

How do you guys do it? Is it mandatory to keep the tag-on flex cable, or is there some other reason why it suddenly says 1%?

One of the culprits could also be that the welding was not succesful, leaving a flimsy connection, and because of the power outage to the phone, it would not be able to read the BMS correctly after regaining power?

Hey. i just bought an iphone 11. But when it came its Locked to Apple id fxxxxx@outlook.com and a code needed. And the owner doesnt answer me and blocked me. i have try to dealet everything and dfu and so on. Activate locked it says what can i do? =/

Hey. My iphone 11 takes charges and everything. But when i try to connect it to my computer and to itunes its not happening nothing. not even charge or coming up in itunes. but my other phones does that. hade try USB port 3.0 and other usb ports and other cables to. What can be the problem?

iPhone 11: Can the bottom mic be replaced?

iPhone 11: Display is separated from the "display-backplate?"?

I removed the display to clean some dust from camera, but when I lifted the display I saw that I couldn't see the battery, that the metalplate is still left. Now I cant find a way to clip back the display as there is no clips, its just loose. Where do I go from here? :O

iPhone 11: iPhone 11 screen laggy after screen replacement

The iPhone 11 screen is very laggy and sometimes registers pressing as holding, it works slightly better with low brightness, but it rarely works without any problem after turning it off and on again. I didn’t have a problem with a „reproduced” screen, but when it broke, I’ve cheaped out and bought a worse screen because it had some good reviews. Can the screen quality be the issue in this case? Also, heavy games like Wreckfest work perfectly fine without any frame rate drops whatsoever if it has to do anything with the „lag”.

iPhone 11: Screen turning on after screen replacement

I've just replaced the screen on my iphone 11 and everything is mostly working fine except the screen is turning on about every 30 seconds. It then auto-locks just like normal and repeat.

I did lose two screws during my repair, the Y screw in the speaker sensor assembly and one of they Y screws on the battery connector bracket.

I haven't reopened the phone yet to see if anything else looks damaged. I'd like to avoid that so I don't need to replace the adhesive again.

What would you suggest doing next? Can you tell me what component my be affecting the screen this way?

iPhone 11: iPhone 11 mute switch not working

I had a cracked iphone 11 and the frame got bent a lot. I ordered a new back housing. I took all the parts from the broken iphone to the new casing except the mute&volume flex since it got ripped when the iphone broke. So I ordered a new flex and installed it on the new back housing. I put on the mute button under the springs. For some reason the mute switch does not work. The volume buttons work perfectly. I dont understand why since mute switch and volume buttons are connected on the same flex. I tried to check the ribbon that goes from the mute switch if it has any damage but I dont see anything wrong. Can it be the button itself is not seated correctly under the springs?

iPhone 11: iPhone 11 LCD replacement in progress

I ordered and received a complete LCD assembly and also the blue adhesive to repair my broken LCD. I've disconnected the old part and everything is so far so good. The LCD I've received came with what looks like the adhesive to waterproof the phone again, but is pink instead of blue, and I'm just wondering if there is a difference between the two. Do I use both, or one or the other? Thanks in advance for any help in clearing this up for me.

iPhone 11: Reasons behind black shadows on screen

Hi, recently I’ve agreed with my friend to buy his iPhone 11, and we agreed that I will give him money after some time.He didn’t say anything about the black shadows on the screen. I know it is a backlight problem. My concern is that I started noticing that the display on the iPhone has spots where there are black shadows which don’t go away or anything like that. I would like to know if it was my problem that it started appearing. Could it be caused by water damage, or what is the reasoning? I’m attaching 2 photos. One shows an example of the shadows (not my photo), and the other shows original photo of the display, if any of you can edit the picture that way, that it shows if the spots are there or not. iPhone 11: After sauna and swimming pool, iPhone 11 does not work

I thought the iPhone 11 was waterproof, so I took it to the sauna and had it in my pocket while swimming. After the sauna, I tried to make a call but could not hear anything, though my voice was heard on the other side. Then the screen started to get blurry, and after a while, I wasn't able to turn on the phone. From time to time, it would turn on, work for about 20-30 seconds, and then shut down. Is there a way to recover this phone? If it's not recoverable, is there a way to back up the data?

I tried to connect it to iTunes, but so far, no luck. iCloud didn't back up all the data.

In the last attempt, the iPhone doesn't turn on at all.
