iPhone 6: iPhone 6 WiFi/Bluetooth Not Working

So for the past 6 months or so, my GPS has never worked accurately on my iPhone 6. It would get close to my location, but would always lag behind a bit. I never worried about it because if I'm travelling I usually get my wife to use hers.

BUT, now I've found a need for accurate GPS on a daily basis... So I purchased a new antenna and replaced it.

The new antenna worked (properly - was recognizing WiFi, had bluetooth capability, GPS worked, everything) for about 20 minutes, and now the option to turn on WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS is completely disabled.

Like. If I go to Settings > WiFi, the button is just grey. If I go to Settings > Bluetooth, all I get is the circular loading symbol and it won't stop "loading."

So... I talked to someone and he recommended restoring my phone to factory settings. I done so. I erased all content/settings and set it up as a new iPhone. The problem persists. I can not connect to WiFi, I cannot use bluetooth, GPS does not work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

iPhone 6: iPhone 6 Stuck on Apple Logo with Progress Bar Not Moving After Update

Hi everyone,

Would much appreciate if somebody could help me please. The phone returned to myself from a customer, it worked fine previously but now it has stuck on Apple logo with progress bar screen after an update to iOS 10.2.1. It turns on, the progress bar goes to the end until 1mm of it stays unfilled and freezes. iTunes recognizes the phone, showing all the phone's details as usual (memory size, serial number, backups, etc). I left it for a few hours, but it still showing the same.

If I do a restore it restores, then freezes again at the end at the same stage, when iTunes already shows the screen with set up as a new iPhone or restore from backup options. I tried hard reset and restore in DFU mode, but still nothing.

If this is related to hardware and if someone had faced a similar problem please share, maybe I should try to reheat some components with a hot air station?

Many thanks!

iPhone 6: How does the antenna design on the iPhone 6 work?

Hello,

I noticed that the housing of the iphone 6 consists of three parts. one part is the big middle part where the logo is, which includes the two metal parts enclosed by the plastic stipes (where the camera and flash are i.e.) and then the two metal bands one on top and one on the bottom (where headphone, lightning and speaker grill is).

These metal bands are not connected to the main "chassis", they are only attached with molded plastic and are therefore electrically isolated.

My question is, since internal parts are connected to these metal bands and the logic board also has a kind of connection to it, could it be that these bands are the antennas themselves ? and (i suspect so) do the have to be isolated from the main "chassis"?

the other explaination for this design could be that it is cheaper to build that way and that the "gaps" in the housing (the plastic stripes) are enough to allow antennas on the inside to work.

does anybody know more about this ?

Thank you very much,

Romazzino.

iPhone 6: Front camera not working after screen replacement

Hello,

I recently changed the screen of my iphone 6 (4.7") and the front camera was not working. When I opened the phone to check if the cable is connected it was. So I tested the camera while the screen was out of the shell body (all the cables were still connected) and the front camera was working just fine. I thought that I had a bad connection and put the screen back on. The camera stopped working again. I did this a few times and the same thing happens.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong, please help me!

Recently replaced the battery in my iPhone 6 and a new problem popped up. The iPhone will not charge through a USB port (computer or stereo) but will charge with most (but not the low amp) usb wall chargers. It will also not communicate with the computer, the computer does not see the iPhone at all.

The lightning cable is not the problem. Could the new battery be causing the communication issue?

iPhone 6: Water damage, shows apple logo then goes blank?

So I bought an iPhone 6 64gig off a friend who said he dropped it into the pool and it only stayed in the water for maybe a couple seconds at most. He put it in a bag of rice and dried it all out and then plugged it into the charger and only the apple logo would show, then the screen goes blank. You can see the backlight is still lit but the actual phone and software wont boot. I then took the phone apart and looked for any signs of corrosion but couldn't find any except for on a small screw below the battery, I used a dry tooth brush and rubbed most of it off and then re assembled the phone and yet it still does the same thing. I tried a hard reset and its only still showing the apple logo for maybe 5 seconds then just a blank screen with the backlight still on. Is this a battery issue? do I need to try to clean the entire inside of the phone with alcohol? is there anymore drying techniques I can try on it? The phone has been like this for about 3 weeks now and I'm worried the longer I take to fix it the worse things can get inside the phone please help me!!! TIA!!! Also all of the water stickers are still solid white on each of the 4 stickers I saw, even the one on the logic board and in the charging port. The phone is less than a year old and I'm also wondering if maybe since the stickers are still white that I might be able to get it covered under the warranty?

iPhone 6: Touch ID not working

I know this topic has been covered multiple times, but I'm wondering if there is something else that is wrong with a phone we are trying to fix.

We replaced the screen with an ifixit lcd and digitizer setup, and then the touch id did not work. We then swapped back in the original plate with the home button cable on it, and the touch id still doesn't work. Could something else have been damaged causing the touch id not to work anymore? We can purchase another cable and try it, but just wondering if that's going to fix it?

The home button seems to function as normal, just the touch id is not working and will not let us turn it back on.

The touch id portion worked right before we changed out the screen.

Thanks in advance!

iPhone 6: Why won't my iPhone 6 turn on after battery replacement

Recently my iPhone has been dying super fast, I called apple to ask why and they said I needed a battery replacement. I decide to do it myself but I had a tough time getting it out due to it being glued so tight. I do not remember or believe I damaged the lcd cables because I completely disconnected the front screen when I replaced the battery. However when I put the new battery in it does kinda slide around if I touch it because I didn't put any new glue or tape where the battery is. Now my battery is in but my phone wont turn on. I tried holding the power and home button and waiting for the apple logo but it wont show I also do not get any vibrations when I get a notification. I ordered a new lcd digitizer so I can replace it because I have done this myself before but should it work? is this a lcd problem or a battery problem?

Hi,

In order to recover data stored on the NAND chip of an iPhone 6 motherboard is it enough to desolder the NAND chip and solder it onto a donor board. I am wondering if some additional chip like the CPU, might also need to be swapped. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Any opinions for what to watch out for would be appreciated. We are very skilled at the physical desolder / solder process.

iPhone 6: Home Button Unresponsive After Water Damage?

My Iphone 6 had recently suffered water damage. The water damage came from an accidental drop into the pool. I did the rice trick and after about 5 days it worked. But, the home button doesn't work. However, it does respond after a few minutes. I have done my research and am recently trying an alcohol trick. I used a cotton ball with a dab of rubbing alcohol and pressed on my home button with a circular motion. I was told that the rubbing alcohol dries up the water, therefore contributing to my thoughts of clearing up any leftover water damage. After this, I have chosen to put it in rice for another day. Any ideas on what I could do, if this doesn't work, without going on the inside of the Iphone?
