iPhone 6 Plus: Touch ID + Flex Plate connector ripped

I was replacing a broken screen on my iPhone 6 Plus and I ripped the connector out from the flex cable that is built into the metal plate that come accross the screen. My question is if I replace the metal plate with built in flex cable, will my Touch ID work? The home button seems fine.

Thanks a lot

iPhone 6 Plus: Touch ID no longer working after screen replacement

I repair a lot of iPhones and am only ever having troubles with the 6 plus’s

generally what happens is i’ll do a screen replacement and when it comes to the home button it unclips from the flex cable with ease.. i’m not rough at all it.. fast forward and im now plugging the screen back on and bam it says touch ID is no longer working (regular home button return to home feature is fine.)

i then power the phone down and attempt to unplug the flex to then reseat it as perhaps it’s not seated correctly? i then find that the home button and the flex seem to be binded together and stuck very tight, its near impossible to then separate the two and i end up tearing either the home button or the shields flex cable trying to disconnect the two.

i’m just after some insight on firstly has anyone got any ideas on why my touch ID will not be working in the first place after a seemingly normal home button transfer has been carried out with no issues at all..

before i obviously tear the flex nothing has seemingly gone wrong, im very gentle and the flex and home button seemingly unclip so easily and i doubt ive damaged it at all. When reseating the home button its not as if im hammering the home buttons flex cable into the backplates flex cable.. im lightly pressing them together until you feel that 'click’ the exact same as the i6/6s/6sp etc..

i’m so lost on why sometimes the touch ID will be working after a screen replacement on a 6 plus and i do the exact same prodecure for the next 6 plus and its touch ID is now broken :(?

lastly - have you got any tips for separating the lcd shield back plates flex cable and the home buttons flex cable if they are now literally binded together without breaking one of them lol.

thank you

iPhone 6 Plus: iPhone 6 Plus Ghost touch

Hello. I thought that my iPhone have touch disease but it has no gray flickering display. But touches itself. When I got to a local phone repair shop. The guy opened my iPhone to check its internals and then WE NOTICED THAT THE 5 SCREWS THAT SECURES THE DISPLAY DATA CABLES WERE ONLY 3! And the iPhone is also bent. The guy offered me to replace the screen and the rear housing for a total of $108! $44 for the rear housing and $64 for the screen. WILL I PAY $108 JUST TO REPAIR MY IPHONE OR I'LL JUST TRY TO BUY 2 SMALL PHILIPS SCREWS TO FILL THE GAP?! BECAUSE I'M NOT SO SURE THAT THE SCREEN IS ALREADY BROKEN. IT JUST HAVE A GHOST TOUCH BECAUSE OF INCOMPLETE SCREWS. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT TO TRY/DO? THANKS!

iPhone 6 Plus: iPhone 6 Plus Error 4013 after Screen, Logic, and Lightning replaced

I recently gained possession of an iPhone 6 Plus that I replaced the screen on for a friend. The phone then proceeded to boot loop until it ran out of power. Thinking that the device was fubar, he gave it to me. So I decided to try basically everything. Got to the point that I decided to replace the logic board after having heard that error 4013 can be NAND related. Did that. Still get the exact same error whenever I try to restore it with iTunes.

After replacing my iPhone’s 6 Plus screen, i get an error “unable to activate touch id” Is it because im using my else’s screen?

iPhone 6 Plus: Touch ID problems after screen replacement

So i did a screen replacement. The connector on the long flex cable that runs along the shield plate was glued very hard to the front panel and took me 30 minutes to get off, but when it came loose it had a slight “bend” near the connector which was caused by me removing the connector. I could not see any tears or broken pins, i checked with a magnifying glass. I used the original home button on the new screen.

Now the touch ID is not working, the home button seems to work as it should except the touch id function. I opened it up again and reseated the home button connector, but still the same. Before i did the screen replacement i did remove the battery connector.

So how likely is it that the long “shield plate” cable causes this touch ID error?

And is that long flex cable also paired with that specific motherboard or is it only the actual home button?

And how likely is a itunes restore going to fix this problem (if its not the cable which is broken)? I really don´t want to do a restore since i´m at iOS 10.1 and would like to stay there, unless i know that will fix the problem.

P.S. Now when i think about it this same problem happened also when i did the exact same job on a iphone 6 earlier, never cared to try to find a solution that time though. So same thing happened 2 times on different iphones. That phone had also ios 10.

Am i missing some step here?

iPhone 6 Plus: iPhone 6 Plus sometimes auto restart?

Hi I got an IPhone 6 plus water damaged and came with short on VCC_Main Cap near the Audio IC. After removing the shorted Cap the phone works normally, but then after a few days the phone came in with with a new issue :

.

1. Always restart itself

2. Battery percentage is not normal, like sometimes 80% and directly decrease to 5% and suddenly it turns off.

.

So I take a further step by changing the Charging IC (U1700). After changing the Charging IC the IPhone works well, but just for a few hours the issue CAME BACK (but the percentage issue is solved). Diode Mode on Vcc_Main looks normal to me around 350.

.

So my question is, do I need to change the Tigris Chip ? Is it possible that the issue came from the CPU ? What should I do next
