iPhone 6s: Put a iPhone 7 battery in iPhone 6S?

So seeing that the iPhone 7 has a new battery with a bit more power, it made me wonder if you could theoretically mod the 7 battery to work in a 6S?

I mean they both use 4 pin connectors? I would assume iOS could detect a 7 battery and use it correctly(charging , etc) but I don't know for sure.

As for the battery connector, maybe soldering is possible?

Thanks!

iPhone 6s: Battery Drain After Screen Replacement

I have recently had some issues after iPhone 6s screen replacement.

Whilst testing devices after screen replacement I have seen some rapid battery drain and in some cases full shutdowns.

There is nothing to suggest the devices weren't already like this (as we know the 6s battery situation) however I'm wondering can a screen casue this.

I have recently changed my screen supplier, it doesn't happen on each 6s but ive seen it 3-4times now in past few months and I am curious has anyone else experienced this.

Today turned device on after screen replacement and was 41%, this soon became 39% and whilst testing front camera it shut down. When powered up again it was at 10%

Thanks in advance

iPhone 6s: iPhone stuck in Boot Loop only when plugged in to power outlet.

Hello everyone,

My iPhone 6s fell this past weekend and since then has been stuck in a boot loop (apple logo appears and disappears) whenever it is plugged in to an outlet.

Ultimately I'd like to pull the data out of my phone via iTunes backup, but the problem I'm facing is that my iPhone does not seem to boot up when plugged in to my PC's usb port.

Anyone have an idea how I can enact atleast a bootloop on a PC or get my turned off iPhone recognized in iTunes?

I tried finding answers via search, but nothing seems to touch on the issue of my iPhone not booting when plugged in to a usb port on the PC.

Thank you.

iPhone 6s: The backlight on my iPhone 6s is not lighting up

My backlight is not lighting up. The screen is black but will accept touch input. I have tried reconnecting the screen, cleaning cables, and wiping down the back of the screen with a DRY rag. This problem surfaced after I attempted to add a Glowing led apple logo. The funny thing is: it worked for about 15-30 min and then stopped. I removed the LED logo but the screen is still is not functioning. When I press the home button for the first time after turning off and on the screen, it flickers on then turns off. Any suggestions?

iPhone 6s: Replacement Screen Touch Not Working After Upgrading to iOS11

Wanted to share my experience with a recent iPhone 6s screen repair. So after replacing a screen on an iPhone 6s it worked flawlessly on iOS 10.3.3. Since upgrading to iOS 11 touch no longer works, the screen functions and so do all the buttons but touch no longer works. After multiple attempts to reach out to Apple for an answer on this they blatantly refused to help, even hung up on us, due to it having a 3rd party replacement screen. This seems to be a ridiculous answer to me, thats like an auto manufacturer disabling your car because you put an aftermarket part on it. The function and quality of the part is the same. After multiple attempts to get Apple to help to no avail, out of the blue we were contacted by an Apple software engineer who was very interested in our problem and confirmed that this is an issue in iOS 11 and told us that a fix may be implemented in the next subversion iOS release. In the meantime we had to roll the device back to iOS 10.3.3. This is unacceptable to me that Apple refuses to acknowledge or assist users affected by something that was clearly not present in iOS 10.3.3. ifixit has been extremely helpful during this process and has offered us a replacement screen to see if this fixes the issue. Will be reporting back once we try it. In the meantime thanks ifixit for all the support!

- Dave

iPhone 6s: iPhone 6s screen repair "Non-OEM Hardware Detected" during restore

Not so much a question. Just wanted to share this information that we experienced for anyone who is going to do iphone 6s screen replacements.

We did a screen replacement after repair was completed. We then tested everything even TouchID. Customer then took it back home to restore device through iTunes. Customer stated the restore went halfway, stopped and then popped a message on the screen stating "Non-OEM Hardware Detected". We did not replaced the TouchID home button, just the screen assembly.

Since we still had original screen, we put back the original screen then restored the device to our surprised it worked 100%. We believe 3D touch panel is married to the phone itself, just as the Touch ID button was in the iPhone 6. Device has restored fully. Touch ID is reading perfectly. Going to try to transfer the 3D touch panel to the new replacement screen and test.

This is so far first and only device that we experienced this issue and we are still not 100% if this for every iphone 6s screen replacement.

Updated

We glad to see everything actively testing this issue out and glad to hear that the issue hasnt happen to anyone else. We do apologies for the scare and also not having the proof to show our claim. If we do come across this issue again we will provide pictures and or video. If anyone else can recreate this odd issue we had please let us know. :) Thank you

iPhone 6s: Sound up & down when recording video

Hi,

I noticed that the sound volume of any recorded video in my iPhone 6s starts low and then increases/ decreases with no obvious reason.

The sound result is like switching microphones front/rear, however I am not an expert and this is just a wild guess to describe how it feels like.

When I play the video in my computer, the sound issue is still there, so it should be a microphone hardware or software issue?

I haven't exposed the phone in any humidity sources nor having dropped it.

For the record I have tried to tackle the above issue by:

- testing the iPhone's stock camera app vs. other video recording apps and the issue persists.

- restoring and set up as new

- resetting options etc

with no good results.
