iPhone 6s: iPhone fell in pool

Hey guys. I submerged my iPhone 6s about two weeks ago in a pool (for not even 5 seconds). As soon as I realized it I took it out of its case and shook out water and let it air dry (hot, non humid weather). The phone worked fine that entire afternoon until the evening when streaks displayed on the screen. I now know I should've powered it off but I didn't know that then. I also did not have access to tools to open it and let it dry better. The following morning it was off. And has been off since. A couple of days ago we returned fr vacation and I finally opened the phone. Nothing seems rusty or corroded. Any suggestions? I'm thinking it's most likely the screen that needs to be replaced. My husband said that the other day he connected it, he felt it vibrate but of course nothing displayed on the screen. What should be my next step?

iPhone 6s: Bottom half of the screen is unresponsive.

I replcaed my phone screen about a month ago using one of the guiides on this website. Everything worked fine. Then out of no where the bottom half of the screen stopped working and I cant use the keyboard or anything. Im not sure what to do.

Customer has brought in a device. The customers Voice Memo or snapchat if you attempt to record is just crackly. We have tried a Front Camera Flex & Powerflex (with rearmic built in) and still no sound. New earspeaker mesh also. Any suggestions please

iPhone 6s: screen is not turning on after screen replacement

I replaced the iPhone 6s screen according to the instructions online and when I connected the cables for the screen to the phone and completed reassembling the phone, the screen will not turn on. It remains black even though the phone will vibrate if I flip the vibrate key. I tried hard resetting the phone by pushing the home button and the screen lock button at the same time and this did not help. Do you have any suggestions for why this could be happening. If not I want to return the screen as it may be the problem.

Hi there,

I've had 2 iPhone 6S recently with the exact same problem. When speaking to someone, the microphone sounds very crackly. When they use headphones the sound is clear.

I've done the basics such as replace the charging port. Clean the bottom speaker holes. I changed the camera up top in case it was the proximity sensor.

Has anyone experienced this?

In an interesting turn of events. After trying a 2nd new charging port it solved the issue.

To clarify:

- Phone presents with microphone issue

- Replaced charging port still has exact same microphone issue

- Replaced the charging port again and it solved the issue.

iPhone 6s: Ambient light sensor not working

I purchased and installed an ifixit screen for my iPhone 6s, and the 3D Touch feature was so sensitive you couldn't use it, and the auto brightness would not work. If you set the brightness and locked the phone, it came back on at medium brightness every time. I received a replacement screen, and the 3D Touch works great, but the ambient light sensor is still not working. Same issue with the brightness returning at 50% regardless of where you set it. I got the screen and digitizer as an assembly so the accessories (other than the home button) were already installed. All other features including the proximity sensor and front camera work fine. Help!

Will the phone turn on and show a display while only being plugged into a computer or wall socket?

i have been doing a housing mod and broke the battery connector, after putting the phone back together and plugging it in, it wont turn on and i need to know if its the battery not being plugged in or i have &&^&@@ something else up

iPhone 6s: iPhone 6S Tristar IC Replacement Tips

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend iPhone 6S is not charging, and for what I have searched the problem is related with the Tristar IC (U4500).

I already bought the U4500 component and I have all the material necessary form the replacement.

For what I have searched about the problem that I mentioned, the only thing that I need to do is to replace this Tristar IC (U4500) (but if I’m wrong, I appreciate if anyone cloud clarify me, on other possible reasons for this problem).

With that said I have a few questions that I would like to know the answers before try anything with the iPhone.

What temperature should the soldier station be, to remove to Tristar IC, without cause unwanted damage to other components?
How much flux should I apply to avoid damaging other components?
In the removing process how long (seconds or minutes), should I inflict heat to remove the IC chip (an approximated time)?
When heating, my movements should be circular around the spot, or as steady as possible focusing on IC?

iPhone 6s: iPhone 6s will not accept calls

My wife's iPhone 6s cannot accept calls. The phone can call out but any attempt to reach the phone results in an engaged signal. She made a call this morning but could not terminate the call, there was no red button to end the call. This call does not appear on the call history. .She has done a complete reset back to factory settings.

Hi all , , i've got an iphone 6s here which i was told had been water damaged , having taken it apart it has obviously had a repair attempted already as the shields were off and under fill dug away , the board looks relatively clean with no signs of corrosion there are however some components missing , i think whoever took the under fill off was a bit heavy handed , as FL3202-1 was missing , i believe this is a filter on the vcc main to camera .. am i right in thinking the phone should still boot without this ?

The phone will not boot nor is it seen by itunes

I have checked voltages around tristar , PP_VCC_MAIN is present, so is PP3V0_TRISTAR . and PP1V8 and PP5V0_USB , I replaced tristar to rule it out , still no change

My bench ps reads 15 ma draw which changes to 27 Ma when prompted to boot .. charger current reads 43 ma .

Nothing seemed to be getting warm on the board so i started checking randomly for shorted components , i found line PP_1V0_SMPS3 is shorted to ground , from what i can see there are only 3 components on this line and points under U_BB_RF ,

should i inject 1 v from my ps into this line to see what gets hot ?

Have a weird one have an iPhone 6s works great but when a call comes in screen stops working can’t answer and phone will continue to ring until I do a hard reset. I have taken it apart and cleaned it no water damage have replaced the screen install a new battery.

my phone has had no replacements over its use and all of a sudden the call quality has just gotten worse and worse. now the phone is stuck on searching no matter what I do to it. i have tried using a new sim card as well but that didn’t work either.

iPhone 6s: No Battery Health Stats

After installing the replacement battery the battery health stats do not populate. Prior to ordering the replacement it was clear the original battery was done for. So I order the replacement and everything went fairly smooth. Let the battery drain (below 10% as I got the pop up alert). I think proceeded to charge the battery to 100% uninterrupted.

My problem - battery health still reads the status service. Even after doing a full reset on the phone it still says service. With exception to one random reboot the phone is running fine. A third party app seems to confirm the battery capacity is going to a full charge. So as far as I can tell everything should be fine. It did seem like the phone got warmer then I’m used to with the new battery, but then it was always in a case.

Any clue why apples Battery Health reading would say I need to service the battery still? Is there an extra step for reseting that?

iPhone 6s: Home button not working after screen replacement

Hi, so I know this is a commonly asked question, but I can’t find anything like my situation. I got a replacement 6s screen a while ago, installed it fine, didn’t rip any cables or anything, the only thing I noticed was that the home button was really loose and would shift around a lot. I reconnected everything correctly, but I didn’t snap in the clips holding the screen down because I wanted to make sure it worked. The LCD issues were fixed, but the home button was very finicky and would only work about half the time or when I held it down for a few seconds. After trying it for a while it just stopped responding at all. I disconnected the battery, digitizer cables, etc. to make sure everything was good, and it seemed totally normal. Now I don’t know what to do. Please help me out, thanks. I never had Touch ID enabled so I don’t know if that works.

Im looking at changing the following chips between two matching iPhone 6s.CPU chip, Qualcomm baseband ic, nand memory chip, my question is after getting them both finished will i need programming tools? For each chip? When i first researched this it looks like you can just switch them and turn them on. Now I'm being told differently. Also I was just told I'm missing a piece. Yes this is for refurb of phones with iCloud activation lock. Clean imei not stolen

I got device which was having no backlight at all , after diagnosis I found the filter capacitor was Burnt instead of changing the capacitor with new one , I did direct jumper , this cause backlight came but the half side of lcd , how to get other half backlight of iPhone 6S

should I put the capacitor on , or change the backlight ic ?
