iPhone 7: iPhone 7 camera lens replacement questions...

Camera lens on my iphone 7 is cracked, I have a few questions....

(1) I bought the "glass with frame" and not "glass only", can the glass with frame be replaced without opening the phone? If I need to open the phone to install the glass with frame, is there any way I can take the frame off so it's like the "glass only" so I can install without opening the phone?

(2) I'd like a clean method of replacing it (i.e. opening the phone and replacing it from the back) versus the guides on here advising me to crack the glass and glue one on top. But if I open the phone will it lose it's water resistant capability?

(3) The guide here lists it as medium difficulty, I've done some hard difficulty things without any issues, Is the easier method to just crack the glass and glue one on top? I am just afraid it might not appear clean (is anything glued ever clean?)

(4) Will my ex girlfriend's hair dryer she left here + tweezers work? I don't have a hot heat gun.

iPhone 7: iPhone 7 does not charge past 5% after screen replacement

I have done a few iPhone 7 repairs now. 2 of the repairs I have done came back within 2 weeks saying how their phone will not charge past 5%. One was an iPhone 7 one was an iPhone 7 plus, completely non related customers. Could this have anything to do with the repair, or is it from the initial drop something internally (or the battery) got damaged?

iPhone 7: iPhone 7 stuck in Boot loop after shorting Display plug pins

I really hope someone can help.

I recently fitted a new screen to a iPhone 7 but upon start up the phone got to the apple logo and then restarted again. After searching the threads I thought it could be the audio ic which I tried to reball but there was no change so I put the phone aside.

Today I had another iPhone 7 and thought I could use the new screen however, the same thing happened with this second phone i.e bootloop ( the phones restore normally but then revert to a boot loop )

I had a look at the screen cable under the microscope and found a bit of solder touching ground and the top four pins ( I think they go to pins 1,2,3 and 4 on the motherboard )

I have checked the board and discovered at least pin 2 is short to ground which the schematics show as "I2C_Disp_EEprom_SDA_Conn"

I have checked FL4741, C4741, C4731 and FL4729 and all are shorted.

Can someone please help and give me some idea where the short is possibly coming from as I have two customers iPhone 7's to repair.

Thank you in advance

iPhone 7: Am I the only one experiencing problems with parts from here?

I'm not dissing on anyone or anything. I am trying to figure this out because I know I can have bad luck in everyday life, but really never in parts or repair. As of late, it seems like I'm having issues with iFixit parts. The main problem is an iPhone 7 that I am having problems with. Originally I put a new screen on it in December I believe. It was fine until about 2 weeks ago where the owner reported the left side of the screen stopped working to the point that it went black with a line being the only thing visible. There is no damage that can be seen or anything. It had a tempered glass and if there was damage caused by the owner, I would think it would of shown on that too. No problem. I order a aftermarket screen assembly, do a warranty claim on the old screen and install the new one I installed. The newer screen looked fine and worked will. However that didn't last long. Before putting it back together, I let it sit for 5 minutes or so. That is when it started to show a flickering white ring around the edge of the screen. It went away after using the phone for a bit but soon enough it would come back. Well maybe it was defective. So I did a warranty claim on both screens. I got the new ones. This is where I am wondering what is going on. I tried the first of the newer screens. All seemed well. I let it sit for like 30 seconds and that is when a white rectangular section on the middle of the screen starts appearing. The more it sit, it comes up fully. There is no way I thought. I then try to use the second of the the two that I was sent. Same story though but different result. Everything was fine. Let it sit and now it shows the middle rectangular section with spilt regulars going up and down and the flickering white ring around the edges from before. In all of these attempts I disconnected, clean off the connectors in how iFixit recommended me before, then reconnected and put the bracket to be sure they weren't going lose or anything. But the results would be the same. I haven't denied it couldn't be the phone. But I asked a friend to let me use their iPhone 7 to try their screen. It is the original Apple screen and even after letting it sit for awhile, it all worked fine. So that is kinda telling me that it's not the phone and more then likely the screens. I know they aren't the choice version but I wouldn't expect that from here even for cheaper versions. Should I go ahead and try the choice version and see what happens or is someone else having problems and I'm just lost in what to do?
