I forgot my password and my phone is disabled so I tried using an iMac updated to the latest gen to restore and update it and it didn’t work showing me “The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2015).” Also used a windows laptop. FYI, My battery level last checked was at 88% and it may be lower, does this change anything?

iPhone X: iPhone X only making "connected to charging cable" noise, fixable?

Dropped my iPhone X in saltwater for no longer than 10 seconds, iPhone still makes the charging noise when plugged in and still makes a vibrations/typing noise when I try to enter my passcode. however the entire display is completely dark and will not show any signs of display/brightness. wondering if I order a new LCD and screen replacement + plus battery if this would fix the issues?

iPhone X: WIFI on iPhone X isn't working after screen replacement! HELP!

The iPhone X was working fine and no issues with the wi-fi. I put the new screen on and now there are no WiFi networks showing up!

I’ve checked the antenna at the bottom of the phone and that seems fine. Everything else works including the audio without any issues!!

I have recently replace the display of an iPhone X after it receive an hammer, now the GPS present issue, is really inaccurate and doesn’t work well with navigator apps but a few times it works fine.

I would like to know if it cause by the screen replacement or by something else and possible solution

No cracks or marks on the screen. i believe some ribbon cable couldve came loose. Touchscreen is absolutely unresponsive.

Heyo,

I attempted to repair a colleague’s iPhone X after his lightning port stopped charging. He got quite tired of having to charge wirelessly, so he reached out to me. I successfully replaced the lightning connector assembly, with everything still working.

The next day he texts me about an issue where his call quality for the receiver is terrible and not clear. I took a look at it. maybe I didn’t put in the mic correctly, so I opened it back up and double-checked if everything was in place. I also cleaned the holes a bit just to make sure that isn’t the issue. I also changed a few settings, like the “background noise reduction” etc.

The audio quality was a tiny bit better, but that didn’t fix it.

A few days later he texts again about it. My first thought was to just replace the lightning connector assembly, maybe I just got a faulty one, so I ordered it.

Yesterday I got it replaced successfully once again but still have the mic issues. I have one final idea to fix it. I got my hands on the gaskets (is that what you call them?) that prevent water from coming in. I’ll attempt to replace them tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed that it will fix the issue.

My question is (in case I fail with the gaskets): Do you have any other ideas on how to fix it? Have you ever experienced this problem? (if so, how did you fix it?)

iPhone X: Cameras & FaceID not working after back glass removal

Folks, there was a catastrophe. I was trying to replace the broken rear glass on iPhone X. Used heat gun & soldering fan to heat-up the back and remove the glass. Removal was pretty hard and once complete neither of cameras (front & back), nor the face id are working. The guess is that the board got overheated. Tried to replace the rear camera in the neighborhood shop, but that didn’t help. The inductive charge got a little damaged, but I don’t think it can cause cameras to fail.

Is there a way to fix this? Would appreciate a help. I can do soldering if needed.

iPhone X: iPhone X Black Screen of Death

I regularly clean my iphone X with cotton embedded in 96% ethyl alcohol, this time I used too much alcohol (the cotton was dripping) and the screen went black, but other than the screen the phone seems to be working (I can hear the beep when the phone is connected to the charger, etc)

I tried a hard reset, factory reset with itunes but the screen keeps black. Any suggestion? thanks

Hey,

I have iPhone X 64 GB and i have a isue that is pretty strange.

Mobile, have broken glass back and screen too, but i changed screen and the problem is still the same. Everything works, just one thing, that was before and after screenreplacement.

Rear camera doesn´t work on Camera app, front camera works fine, face id also, flash too, bet rear camera it just how to say stucks, freazes, it tries to focus and then show a image blury and freazes, if you try to focus somethin else you wait like 30 seconds and it focus that thing but still image is blurry and it doesn´t move, until you try to focus something else again and wait couple seconds and see again blurry dark picture.

If i go to Instagram app and try to open camera doesn´t work ether, but if i go to snapchat or messenger/facbook, rear camera working smoth as !&&*.

I tried to

deactivet, activet location service.
Reinstaled (factor settings)
Hardreset
DFU mode
Updates

Help me, should i change camera lens or something to do with logicboard ( and logicboard i know nothing). Changing parts i can it´s easy.

I recently replaced my iPhone X battery. It worked as expected on iOS 13. Since updating to iOS 14, now the battery’s health registers as significantly degraded, Maximum Capacity is blank, and the battery life is absolutely garbage. Instead of 1 charge a day, I’m changing a minimum of 3 times. I’ve already tried draining and refilling the battery leaving it on the charger for a few hours after 100%, same issue. I’m hoping someone can help me out. Thank you.

Hi you all, I have a question. I went ahead and went to do a screen replacement for myself. The problem begun with the pentalobes, i have an ifixit p2 screwdriver, and both of the screws i rounded off and now they are stuck in there. I do have access to the insides, as I went ahead and ripped the screen threads (still somehow working and all, writing from the screen rn) and went ahead thinking I could just get these out with my tweezers and buy different pentalobes to use, but once I had the screen off, i realised the screws wouldn’t get out. Any ideas?

iPhone X: Broken Rear Glass, Swapping The Full Housing?

I have an iPhone X, space grey, 256gb. I’m sure some others have the same problem I am having with replacing the rear glass. That being said, I know the easier way to fix this is swapping the full housing. I am looking into doing the project and found a site where they sell the full housing and everything is already mounted up. I guess it’s a used iPhone X and maybe the motherboard was messed up. If I buy this, are only my motherboard and Face ID sensors needed to be swapped over or are there other parts that will need to be swapped as well?

iPhone X: Searching or No Signal

After doing a battery install I have a iPhone X that won’t get service it either says “no service” or “searching” it does recognize if a sim is installed or removed.

i have done every reset possible, different sims, put original battery back in. Replaced the antenna cable bracket(With flex) on bottom, I also replaced the loud speaker flex (also known as interconnect flex cable ) being the cell antenna bracket connects to it. Still same issue. Anyone have any idea? Thanks

iPhone X: iPhone X Boot loop! Low battery then Apple Logo

I’m having issues with my iPhone X. When I try switch it on ordinarily, not plugged in or anything it shows the screen that prompts you to plug the phone in to charge. When plugged in the phone goes to the screen which shows the iphone is plugged in but low charge. It then displays the apple logo for about 5 seconds, then goes black, then goes to the low charge screen again. It keeps repeating this no matter how long its on charge for.

I’ve tried putting the phone into DFU mode by pressing the volume up bottom, then the volume down button then the power button it then goes to the restore screen where it asks to plug it into itunes. Itunes doesn’t detect the phone at all, was expecting it to prompt me to restore and update like it normal does.

Have been thinking about replacing the battery to see if that’s the issue as it doesn’t seem to be taking charge at all

Any help would be massively appreciated

Hi everyone, the situation has now advanced in a good way! I disconnected the battery, disconnected the screen and then connected the battery back up. Pressed up, then down then held the sleep key and to be shock it detected the phone!

From here I restored the phone and updated to IOS 13. I’ve now got to the welcome stage of the phone on iTunes however when I connect the screen back up it goes back into a boot loop!

The screen appears to be the issue here I recon. Should I just get a new screen? I’ve checked the connections on the motherboard and they seem okay no visible damage or dust in there. Not too sure what to do
