I have two shuffles. I load one with walking music and one with running music and swap the headphones back and forth. Yesterday my walking shuffle died mid-song. I figured the battery died. I switched to my running shuffle and it died in the very next song. Again - since I use them both equally I figured the battery was dead. Came home and plugged one into my mac and went to take a shower. Came back an hour later and the shuffle was very hot and I saw it wasn't recognized by iTunes. I tried unplugging and replugging and no recognition. Same thing with the second shuffle. Tried a wall socket - nothing. No charge, no green or orange light, and no iTunes recognition with either of them. Tried resetting each - nothing. The nearest Apple store is 2.5 hours from me. Anyone have any idea at all what I can do? Seems odd that both went dead and are unresponsive. Maybe I should check to see if there was an EMP or something! Seriously - any help at all is appreciated!

I may need to replace the logic board on my iPod Shuffle 3rd Gen; however, I can't seem to find replacement parts anywhere online (iFixit, eBay, Amazon). Does anyone have a suggestion? Feel like fixing this and giving it to someone I know needs it.

iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation: iPod shuffle misbehaving, with very weird symptoms

Ok folks, I know it is kinda dumb to ask something about such an obsolete device, but until now it has been working impeccably... until a certain sad moment when my favorite Ipod shuffle second gen failed me :(

SO what are the symptoms? First of all, it did not play any music. Several earpods have been tested by me, none of them work. The sound of plugged earpods (like you know, the white noise you hear when no music is playing but ipod is on) also did not appear. The light indicators behave very randomly. When I press some buttons and try resetting the device they light up, usually the green light blinks quite randomly. When Ipod is connected to the computer, it is also blinking. But aside from that, nothing happens. When I am 'switching the songs', it does not react. Neither do the volume buttons work.

iTunes won't see it, either. I tried fixing the bugs following all the advice from the official apple website, but it was futile effort. Indeed, the driver for Apple Mobile Device, or whatver, was having an exclamation point next to it, indicating a problem, but after all the attempts to fix the faulty driver I have simply given up. Apparently installing iTunes on a different computer with a connected iPod failed altogether because the freaking iPod is messing with the computer. I really love it, and it has served me for long 6 years. I took a good care of it and I would like to use it just a little longer :( Please help if you know how to

I can't see to find my iPod shuffle on the finder or on the Apple Music app and it flashes orange when I plug it to my laptop but it doesn't show up at all and I've left it charging for at least 2 hours to see if the battery was the issue to not show up but still no hope, Help???

I have a bad connection with the 3.5 jack on my ipod shuffle 4th G.

Tested with several headphones and speakers, I need to hold the jack to get sound.

Can I re-establish contact without dismantling the device?

I've already tried blowing out the dust and removing it with a needle.

I had some difficulty with trying to get my dad’s old iPod to work recently, and then it was disconnected while transferring data on accident and now my MacBook will not read it and it does not show in Finder. When I plug it into my MacBook is only flashes the orange light but I cannot play any music on it nor can I put any on it. How do I restore it to factory default if it does not show up in Finder/iTunes?

Following iFixit directions, I’ve started disassembling it. Previously, when I plugged it into the Air USB port, its contents were readable and replaceable. But when I install new songs/synch, it won’t play. I’m not sure but does not seem to take a charge. New battery? Logic board? Both?

on the G5 the led is constant yellow and green- charged!

On PC or Lenovo laptop it blinks yellow and never green- so I never know when fully charged. Not life threatening but could be better.
