iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod touch 4th gen overheating

I replaced a screen and now it seems to get the temperature warning after 10-20 min of playing a game. Could I have done something while changing the screen that would cause this? It isn't the screen itself causing it. A restore and hard reset solved nothing. I don't see anything out of place or broken inside. How does an iPod keep "cool"? My theory is something got damage when it originally got smashed and the screen replacement has triggered the malfunction.....very stumped.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Why wont my iPod Touch respond to being plugged in or button inputs?

I have recently found my old IPod Touch and wanted to see what was on it (granted it has been sitting there for over a year). While trying, it was completely unresponsive. Nothing on the screen, no response to button inputs and no response to being charged/plugged in to my computer. Im going to go out on a limb and say its either the battery or the logic board that is dead. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Front camera not working after screen swap

Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me out with an issue i have encountered about 3 times in the last 10 screen changes.

All goes well and i reassemble the new digitizer/lcd etc and all is flush. When i test the camera it functions normally , that is the rear camera takes pictures and video no problems, But.. the minute i touch the switch camera icon, top right, so that the front facing camera is in use it freezes the camera and the only way out of this is to go to settings/general/reset all settings.

I do not believe i have damged the front camera during installation, as i say, i have done quite a few by now, so what else could be causing this? What does the little spring do next to the rear camera? is the camera shield plate that sticks to the back of the digitizer really neccessary? does it creat a circuit somehow?

Hope someone can help or at least test this after an install to see if they come across the same issue.

I should add, I make sure that i reinstall everything exactly the same as it was. The only thing i normally leave off is the copper binding around the digitizer connector (but i tested that as well without success)

Thanks

David

Update

Well, Since i posted this first message I have not had any more with this issue.

The solution seems to be changing the cameras where need be.

My idea of the cuase is that during the installation process, the on/off button is getting pressed and switching the unit on. Obviously you won't see this as the screen is off so you wouldn't know it. If this is the case then connecting the new lcd in this state may be frying the camera or it could even be a result of shorting the back plate of the camera against something live.

Anyway, thats the only thing i can think of as like everyone else, i ame xtremely careful when prying up the board to remove the digitizer clip.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Screen adhesive doesn't last long term

I have fixed 2 dozen of these Ipods. The A1367 Ipod Touch 4th Gen. I fix all Apple products and almost every HTC phone and these are by far the most difficult for me. They never get easier. So after you fight to connect the Touchscreen connector, clean all the old adhesive and re fit new adhesive you must be extremely careful pushing the new screen into place. But the adhesive never seems to stick long term. I have had a very hard time with this issue. I buy the 3M 300LSE or whatever. I use the same stuff on Iphone 3G and 3gs but on these IPods it doesn't seem to work well. I am hoping someone who has done multiple repairs of these could let me know what they do. I have actually used Gorilla Glue . Almost every 1 I've ever fixed about 4 months later the screen starts to lift. What am I doing wrong???

I have a 4th generation I pod touch and nothing on it will work my home button, volume button and on/off button work, but that's it. My ipod touch does have a cracked screen, but it still worked fine. My boyfriend borrowed it at work one day and he said that it would not work at all. At first when it started to act up it would start to unlock, but wouldn't slide all the way. It eventually would unlock, but all of the left side of the screen wouldn't work so I charged it thinking that was the problem. I went to go and use it the next day and the whole screen will not work. It won't unlock or anything. What do I do????
