iPod Touch 4th Generation: What happens if the copper tape is ripped?

I was taking apart my nieces Ipod touch 4th cause she busted the screen on it. On one section of the instructions it shows how to get that metal plate out and it says not to break the copper tape what happens if you did. Cause I think I am going to go ahead and buy her a new one and later on fix that one up if the copper is no big deal.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Digitizers lift back off after replacement

I own a computer repair shop and have alot of experience working on mac's and pc's. I recently started offering phone and tablet repair services. I dont really have any issues with any other device. But I have worked on 3 difference Ipod touch 4th gen devices and every time I install a new digitizer the top left hand corner starts to seperate from the casing, its like the adhesive isnt strong enough to hold it there, Ive read forum after forum.

I remove the old digitizer, re-install everything test fit the digitizer, clean the digitizer frame with alcohol. apply the adhesive according to the guide. Then press the screen into the frame. then the top left hand corner separates every time. I have disassembled the devices and checked to make sure everything is in place, but there is either something out of place pushing the digitizer's back up or I am continually getting defective 3m tape. Is there a better adhesive I should be getting?

I'm assuming this is something small and stupid I have simply overlooked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Right Side of iPod touch 4g is not responding

The right side of my iPod touch 4g is not responding. In August 2012 i had the touchscreen replaced and after that everything was fine. But since one month the right side started to not respond. Sometimes the right side is opening apps itself or marking letters on its own.

Things i already tried to do:

well i opend the iPod and reconnected the connection between the iPod and the screen. In the beginning it helped to shake it, or to turn it of. But now nothing is working and the space with the problem is getting bigger. Today i made a Hard Reset, but that didnt help.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Install LCD and Digitzer as 2 pieces?

Knowing that the LCD and the digitizer are fused together originally, I have a question about the repair. Could I order the two OEM parts separately (digitizer, and LCD) and install the two parts together to fix the screen, thus making a potential break easier to repair in the future?

iPod Touch 4th Generation: logic board removal is not going so well!

So the volume/ power button flex cable arrived today. I went over the tear down tutorial and started the repair.

I'm at the part where you slide the flat tool under the copper backing to loosen the battery but the docking port and speaker section of the logic board don't seam to want to move? all the video's make it look like it slide's out like pizza!

I am really worried that the docking port and the speaker are glued down. And a little cheesed off!

I thought the hard part would be the soldering and just looking at it it hard to say weather this thing will fit back together.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: New screen doesn't stick properly on top edge

I have replaced several iPod Touch 4th Gen screens, but I always have trouble getting the screens to stick properly on the top edge.

So does anyone have any tips on how to get the screen to stick better at the top, or how to get the plate aligned better? Maybe I need better adhesive? I use pre-cut the 300LSE which is supposed to be good.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: What do I use to "reglue" my wifi antenna?

A while back, I broke my IPod 4g screen, so recently I bought a new screen and replaced it. Worked great. However, in the process, I unattached and unplugged my Wifi antenna...It was held down with some sort of..adhesive substance. I plugged the antenna back in but now my Wifi goes in and out. If I hold it down with tweezers, my internet connection is fine, but once I let go, I slowly start to loose connection. I figure that I need some sort of glue to keep it held down, but I can't find exactly what I should use... Anyone know? Thanks!

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod won't do ANYTHING after digitizer replacement!?

So I was working on my 3rd iPod 4G digitizer replacement tonight and I got it apart just fine, nothing broken or anything, and as I;m trying to connect the LCD ribbon I thought i had it snapped into place so I turn on the iPod and nothing came on the screen. So i gave it a few more tried before I finally got the LCD cable snapped in, and once I did the LCD just kept flashing black/grey every few seconds. I tried holding the home button and power button and nothing happened it just kept flashing. I thought maybe it was the new LCD so I disconnected it and connected the original, because I knew that one worked. That one did the same thing when I put it on. I decided to try and connect it to the computer just to see what happened, and when I plugged it in I got nothing... iTunes doesnt see an iPod, my computer doesnt see an iPod, no beeps.... nothing... My question is what the %*^$ could be causing this iPod to act this way? And is there anything I can do to try and salvage it? I really hope it isn't garbage now... I'm so disappointed, I've been fiddling with it for 4 hours now trying to get it to work. Taking it apart and checking all my connections, re-assembling, and I keep ending up with the same result.
