I have the same problem with a PS A580 and haven't found an answer yet. I looked in the slot with a flashlight and couldn't see anything.

Does anyone know how these things are supposed to work. I suspect that there is a small spring at the bottom of the memory slot with a miniature catch and that somehow this spring has moved from the catch and is blocking the release mechanism.

Does anyone know how these memory slots work?
