Hey Borris! This does sound like a Display Data Cable problem. I first of all, would check on the warranty for your iPad. Sending it in for free is always the best option in my opinion. The fix for it is kind of a pain, due to the extremes Apple put into keeping guys like us out. Once you get everything opened it's as simple as taking out two screws to be able to get to the cable. Once you check it and re-assemble, and it still doesnt work. You could always buy a new one like you suggested. My favorite sites are newegg and amazon. They always have pretty good deals on stuff. and you are likely to find what you are looking for, without having to resort to any of those more shady sites on the interwebs.
