As far as I know Apple has never made any power supply or AC adapter that would not work with world wide voltages. Take a look at the diagnostic light to the right of the RAM slots. The #1 LED will light up if the machine is even getting trickle power but not the #2 when the power button is pushed, although it may flash onceonce if the power supply is bad..
