My laptop went poof and then died on me

I can't turn it back on. There is zero response. It's an acer aspire v5-571. I can't find user manual - is there some way to restart by maybe taking out battery? I read that somewhere but as a I don't know where battery is situated I'm afraid to do something wrong. Please help.
