Why does my picture occasionally go out.?

Metin:

Usually when I power the computer on I see about a second or two of my desktop then the picture goes out.  If I close the lid and reopen it the picture is back and usually stays on, though sometimes I have to close and reopen it multiple times.  Is something just loose or is it getting ready to die?
