addienickh , Check your transmission fluid level and top up if needed. This problem may be transmission or engine related. May not be a true transmission problem but possibly a pressure sensor, electrical i.e. engine misfire or something else. Best to have vehicle scanned for diagnostic/error codes as this could pin point the problem. I have read some forums that state the EGR was an issue on the 1999-02 and some 03's Odyssey's recall I believe and may cause sputter and jerking. Some of the auto parts suppliers offer free code reading like Pepboys, Nappa, Advanced auto parts,etc and some of the guys are very knowledgeable and may have seen the issue often and put you on the right track. If no luck here pop into a good local transmission shop and have them take a look, diagnose and estimate repair. Good luck.
