After replacing new audio jack, iPod is unresponsive.

Metin:

I know that this could be a number of issues but maybe someone out there has had the same situation.

Here is what I did:

1) I used a small flat head screw driver to separate the screen and components from the back plate.

2)I then blew off some dust that was in there.

3) I used the screw driver to separate the battery.

4) I pulled the metal cover off the logic board.

5) I took out the screws that held down the logic board and disconnected the black strip connected to the logic board.

6) I peeled back the logic board with out removing the board from the top of the ipod. I flipped the headphone jack over and removed it using a soldering iron.

7) I installed my new headphone jack with a soldering iron.

8) I resembled in reverse order.

Maybe I am sloppy, but I felt like i did a pretty good job.

the symptoms of the ipod are as follows:

1) When I hold the top button nothing happens

2) when I plug in the ipod to a computer via usb it makes the "connection sound" and the computer is able to read the ipod and sync as if it is on.

3) I thought that maybe the ipod is on but with no display so I tried to swipe when the unlock slide normally is but got nothing.

I think that the ipods display screen and touch screen are disabled.

if anyone has any input I would really appreciate it.
