Broken screen and no connection to external display

Hi,
My Macbook Pro Model A1398 have broken display.
When i turning it on it seems to work in background because i can hear startup-sound from OS X.
Trying to connect to external monitor through HDMI connection, but no connection.
Tried to through Thunderbolt, and no connection. Tried with External Display adapter i bought from Ebay, still no connection!
:( how more can i try to see if Motherboard still working but i have to replace HDMI part on the device?
