My fix it is quite crude and may cause further damage if not done properly. The way I fixed mine is the same as I've done since PS2. (Try at your own risk) Remove disc,  lift the left corner of the PS (where the disc drive is located) about 4/5 inches. Then, let it drop. Do this once or twice, insert disc and listen to hear if the PS hums or clicks. If it hums, it's ready, if not you could try it again or go another route.
