OK I bought a laptop for $25, a Toshiba Satellite C855 S5115. The only thing “Out of Place" was the charger doesn't disconnect, as if the wiring is soldered to the “power source" of the mother board or something inside.
Any who, one day it just stopped charging and eventually the battery died and now I can't charge it again. I have files on there that are very important to me and would like to use or have access to them. Please help !
Can anybody tell me how to open this and take a look at what exactly is “modified" ? Maybe guide me to at least “re-modify" it to make it charge and power on again…and maybe a guide to reverse the modification back to normal ?
I can take pics as we go on, but the pics I'm providing are the “charger” and the model info. The OS is Win10.
On another note…I also have a HP Pavilion Slimline (which also runs Win10) that I can't remember the after boot up access password to. Couldn't I just take my hard drive from the Toshiba laptop and use it in my HP desktop and access those files that way ? Or.is it more complicated than that ? Or near impossible?
But I'd really like to get my laptop up and running and have that to use, so my focus for answers is more towards the issue with that, but all comments are welcome.
Thanks guys !

Looks like the wire on charger cable end to module is damaged from being pushed back and forth from moving it around.
Also looks like I can reverse the modification and replace the DC module and charger to normal.
What do you guys think ?
How about that chassis @nick ? Look good ?
