I used to play on my 2013 macbook air on low settings while I was travelling and it was ok. The new cpus/gpus in this new macbook air are much faster, so you would think it would be ok, but looking at the cooling system I am afraid if you start gaming with this laptop it will thermal throttle and keep getting slower as you play. If you compare to the older non-retina models, those used to have a heatpipe bringing the heat from the cpu directly to a heatsink in front of the fan, but these new models just have a heatsink on the cpu, cooling with the little airflow that the fan can generate through the narrow passages of the case.

In short, no, this is not good for gaming. Cross your fingers and wait for a refresh of the 13” macbook pro with a working keyboard.
