If there is a '''yellow exclamation mark''' next to the WLAN adapter entry, you will have to update the drivers for the adapter. (right click on entry and select ''Update drivers'') If you cannot access the internet using an Ethernet cable you will have to manually install them or you could try uninstalling the adapter (right click on entry and select ''Uninstall'' and follow the prompts). Restart the laptop and Windows should reinstall the WLAN adapter drivers. Check if it now works.
If there is a '''red cross''' next to the WLAN entry, right click on the entry and click on ''Enable.'' Check if it now works''.''
If there is '''no WLAN adapter entry''' in Device Manager, check if there is an ''Other Devices'' listing in Device Manager and see if it is listed there. Also click on ''View > show hidden devices'' to see if it appears.
If there is no WLAN entry at all in Device Manager, not quite sure in your laptop but check in ''BIOS > Advanced Mode > Security > I/O Interface Security'' to see if there is a WLAN entry and if so, if it is enabled. If disabled, enable the setting, save the changes and restart the laptop.
To access BIOS press F2 during boot i.e. time between starting the laptop and Windows start screen appears, usually when the Asus logo is on the screen
