While you might have not had this setup before hand I would have booted up under an external drive to verify the OS and its files where in good working order. Mucking about with the drivers is not the first thing I would have done as now we don’t know if we’ve created a new problem.

+What is the macOS release you are using is it High Sierra or newer?
There really is only a few things that could be the cause.
* The replacement AirPort is defective
* The logic board connector is damaged
* The Antenna cable is damaged
* The USB lines to the Airport connector are not working
-
Here’s the actions I would do:
* Did you encounter problems with the coax connector (did it come off the cable end) did you check the cable to the clutch cover for damage?
* Try another AirPort board?
* Inspect the boards connectors socket contacts for damage
* Replace the [product|IF117-017] while not obvious, the AirPorts Bluetooth logic connects via USB to the I/O board USB Hub!
* Replace the Antenna assembly [https://www.thebookyard.com/product.php?cPath=39_368_349&products_id=12547|15” Retina MacBook Pro Right Hinge Antenna/iSight Cable]
