How to connect Power Mac G5 to HDMI monitor/TV?

I got one of the DVI > HDMI cables from Amazon and tried hooking the G5 up to my TV’s HDMI. TV doesn’t detect anything. I also tried plugging the G5 using that cable into my MacBook Pro but also didn’t detect anything.

I did a lot of searching and people say they used the DVI > HDMI to TV without a problem.

Any tips?
