***David Hoag*** since the charging light comes on we can assume your charger works and the cable works etc. So at this time I would replace the battery. This maybe a case of the battery no longer holding a charge which would manifest in symptoms like you describe.

The battery is located in the metal assembly that is part of the forehead of the headset. Check the teardown [link|https://www.roadtovr.com/oculus-quest-teardown-disassembly/|on here] as well as [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO8lKvBRirg |on here] to at least get you there.
