Dropped MacBook: Black screen but works on external display

I've dropped my macbook on the floor 🤦♂️ and it's edge of the screen got damaged (see attached img). After dropping despite the damage in the corner it was still completely functional but after another 24hrs the macbook screen went black (not completely black because when it boots up i can see very dimmed bright apple logo).

The macbook works on external display.
I've tried to restart NVRAM/PRAM but without any effect.
Do i have any affordable options instead of screen replacement assuming i can live with the damage in the corner of the screen?
