@xhonda1200 you are not saying but I assume it stays on in disk mode while connected to your computer. does it stay on when you keep it in dikmode but disconnect from your computer. If it turns off as well, replace the battery. If it does not, you may need to reinstall the firmware. Let us know the exact model of your iPod. Make sure you backup your HDD. After all, you never know. After downloading the desired firmware below, you can shift-click (PC) or option-click (Mac) the Restore or Update buttons in iTunes. A file dialog will open and let you choose the downloaded ipsw-file. Hope this helps, good luck.
